A Weird Photograph!

 Welcome!

At the end of my last blog post, entitled "A Haunted Mansion, Revisited," which I published on March 28, 2026, I mentioned that there was a paranormal photograph the I would never put on my blog. I will tell you about that photograph in this blog post.

Most of the time, at least for me, spirits show up in my photographs when I least expect them, like a couple of weeks before we visited the haunted mansion in Wytheville, Virginia, Greg and I were in our car. Greg was driving, and I decided to take a picture through the car windshield of a pretty tree on a hill. I didn't have time to use the telephoto, so I took more of the area than I had planned. Also, my shot was right toward the bright sun, which I, of course, did not look at as I was taking the picture.

The reulting photo was that I did get a picture of the tree and part of the road. There was a bright streak of light coming from the sun which went down to the road. At the end of the streak was sort of an abstract human figure with two slots for eyes.

It was somewhat like Edvard Munch's painting, "The Scream," except that the face had no features, and there were no arms and legs.

We thought it was kind of scary. Neither Greg nor I liked what we saw, therefore, I just decided to delete the picture in my camera, as well as the one I put on the computer since it seemed evil to me, and I don't hsve anything to do with evil!

Greg and I called our psychic, and she gave her impression of the photograph that I described to her as I remembered it. At first, she said that it was a male in the photo, but then she also felt a female. She finally decided that there was a female standing behind the male. They were husband and wife..They were attached to the land, and they deeply cared about the tree, and they guarded it. We had felt weird and frightened when we saw the picture because of the stern attitude they had for the tree. They want to keep people from harming it. They are suspicious of people who come near it, so they act scary to keep people away from it.

Originally, I was attracted to the tree several weeks ago, when I decided to take a picture of it. I thought it would make a nice photograph, a graceful tree on a sloping hill. The psychic said there was a lot of love toward the tree from people that pass by it. It's a beautiful, very old tree that is well-protected by the spirits that also love it..

Most of the time, I still take pictures when we drive by that tree which is about once a week. I've gotten some ectoplasm in all of the pictures that I've taken there the past few weeks, but the most recent picture I took was a coulpe of days ago. I took it toward the sun, but again, I did not look at the sun, of course, just like when I took the other picture that I described earlier. This photograph was also weird, but in different, more elaborate ways.

Notice the large, colorful orbs and the ectoplasm! The beloved tree is the smaller one on the left.

However, I assume that the psychic would would say sometwhat the same thing about the above photo as she did about the one that I described for her. However, if she says anything different about this picture, I'll let you know in a future blog post.

It's a weird world! Please stay tuned!

"A Haunted Mansion, Revisited"

 Welcome!

I'm running a little late this month with my blog post since Greg and I just recently got to revisit a very haunted house, the Octagon Mansion, in Wytheville, Virginia. According to some people, it's supposed to be the scariest place in Virginia!

On May 21, 2022, I wrote another blog post about the mansion which was built in 1870. The post was entitled "Haunted! Tours." At that time it was a history museum, and they occasionally offered special paranormal tours. Greg and I just took pictures of the outside of the house when we went by. You might want to check out that post for yourself. One of the pictures in that post is paranormal!

As far as I know, no one lives in the mansion now. The last person who lived there witnessed a lot of paranormal activity, like doors closing on their own, and objects flying across the room. Also, sometimes he heard voices and even saw ghostly figures.

Apparently, the reason the mansion is so haunted is because that during the Civil War, there was an intense battle when 300 soldiers died, etc. in the area where the mansion is now located. Not only that, but there is a little girl who died during the polio epidemic in the 1950's that also haunts the mansion. As if that weren't enough, there are also spirits from the graveyard that is underneath the property!

Since we couldn't go into the mansion, we just took several pictures of the outside, just as we did in 2022, to see if we could get anything paranormal with our cameras.

After we got home, we looked carefully, but we didn't see anything strange with the photos I took. However, we noticed that there was ectoplasm in one of Greg's photos of the front porch-

This cropped-off picture shows the ectoplasm which is beneath, and to the left of this chair.

I wish we could have gone into the mansion when it was open, since I'm sure we could have gotten several paranormal photographs then. Perhaps one day it will reopen, and we'll be right there with our cameras ready to photograph the paranormal!

I consulted a psychic about this property, and she said that it was a ghost magnet, that spirits congregate there. Some are even from Colonial days. They see themselves in their own time period.

Next month, I'm going to tell about a paranormal photograph that I decided never to put on my blog!

"A Supernatural Sunset!"

 Welcome!

I'm running a little later this week since I had to wait until I could talk to an excellent psychic, named Holly, that I know. I finally got in touch with her today. I asked her about three different subjects which I mentioned in my last "Spirit Photographs" blog post last month. It was entitled- "A Paranormal Photograph, as Well as Some Questionable Events During the Past Few Weeks!" It was published on Sunday, January 18, 2026.

In that post I mentioned three unusual things that I was wondering about-

~One of the unusual things, was that someone drove into our driveway for a few minutes, and we had no idea why he was there. He left before Greg could go out and investigate. I had taken a picture of the front of his vehicle through our house window before he left, and I noticed in the picture that there was something like ectoplasm down near the bumper, or I thought it might even be there because of a smudge on the window.

Holly didn't think it was anything supernatural. She said that he was just lost, and that he pulled off of the road to look at a map or his phone. She didn't know what the "ectoplasm"-type of thing was in my picture.

~However, this was supernatural- a sunset in a picture that Greg had taken a few weeks ago-

When Greg showed me the photo, I couldn't believe it!-Not only was there a lot of color in the sky, but there was color on the ground, too! Also, look at the strange sun-like objects in the sky near the white clouds. I've never seen anything quite like this before!

When I asked Holly about Greg's photo, she said that this photo was a gift from God. She also said that Greg and I produce a lot of love, that we appreciate the area, and are close to nature.

Greg does love to be outside and work. He has a special way with plants. He even brought one plant inside, and has nurtured it through the past few cold months. It's supposed to be an outdoor plant (a tropical one!), but Greg has made it an indoor one until it's warm enough to take it back outside to plant in the ground.

I really enjoy taking pictures of nature, the beautiful area where we live, with its four seasons.

In last month's blog post, I also mentioned a haunted mansion. We decided we'd check it out next month.

Please stay tuned!

"A Large Cross with Ectoplasm!"

 Welcome!

A few months ago, Greg and I were on a local shopping trip, and we drove by a church with a nearby large white cross. I took a picture of the cross. I've taken a picture of that cross several times before, since I'm trying to get a really good one for a book that I'm writing.

When I got home, I put the picture with the cross on our computer, to study it. It didn't take me long to notice the unmistakable ectoplasm on the left side of the cross-

It was a rather cloudy day, but that is not a cloud on the arm of the cross. It is ectoplasm, but it is not white or black ectoplasm. I would call it gray ectoplasm since it's a combination of  black and white.

Ectoplasm is the essence of a spirit, and the shades of black, gray, and white have different meanings for the different types of spirits. Generally, black means negative, evil, and powerful. White is positive, spiritual.

Gray, like the gray ectoplasm in the photo, might mean sadness or low energy.

Even after all of the years of my taking paranormal photographs, I'm still surprised when something paranormal shows up in the pictures I've taken, because I never see anything paranormal before I take the pictures. I very rarely take pictures just to try to capture something paranormal.

The same is true for my husband, Greg, and my brother, Nick, in the photographs that they take, since they both have the gift of spirit photography, the same as I do. It's really no surprise about my brother, since we are related, but I believe Greg also has the same talent that I do since several psychics have told me that we are soulmates.

Be sure and check out my book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind," which is on Amazon Kindle, for the paranormal photographs that Nick, Greg, and I have taken throughout the years. There are over 100 of them in this Kindle book!

So, finally, I believe that the ectoplasm in the photograph above means that the ghostly entity is sad or needs help, and is looking for the spiritual, the cross, to save it.

I have a gift for taking spirit photographs, but I can only guess what the spirits in the photographs mean. I leave that that to the professional psychics. The next time I call one, I'll ask her about this photograph, as well as a few others.

What do you think the ectoplasm in this photograph means?

Wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving!

"An Old Haunted House!"

 Welcome!

I honestly didn't think I had any paranormal photographs to share with you for this month on this blog until I found a photograph in my paranormal picture folder that I had never before used.

And here it is-

This is not a very good photograph. That is probably why I never used it. I barely remember taking it, but I can understand why I kept it-because it is paranormal.

Here's the background for this photograph-

I always carry my small camera in my pocketbook, so when we are out, and I see something interesting, I can take a picture. I don't know exactly why I took the picture to begin with, except that I really like old houses. We are usually in a hurry when we go out, so I apparently took the picture from the car window while Greg was driving slowly. Neither Greg nor I can remember much about it, and we have no idea where this house is located.

However, I am glad I took the picture, even though it is not good photographically. You can't tell much about it in the above photograph, so in order to show the paranormal part, I had to edit it which is something I really don't like to do when it comes to paranormal photos.

Here it is after I cropped it and lightened it quiet a bit so that the ectoplasm would show up better-

There's lots of ectoplasm on the house-on the roof, the chimney, near the flag, on the front and side of the house, and there is even ectoplasm almost surrounding the nearby tree.

It reminds me so much of our house in Kingsport, Tennessee where we used to live, not the way it looks, but the fact that this house is apparently very haunted, just like ours was. I tell about it in my paranormal book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind," which is on Amazon Kindle. So many old houses are haunted.

I'm happy that I decided to use this picture, now, so that I could share it with you.

Happy Halloween!

The Halloween picture above looks paranormal, but it's not. I took this picture quickly while we were in our car, through our dirty windshield, which gives it a paranormal look.

"Totally Unexpected Paranormal Photographs!"

 Welcome!

After so many years of taking paranormal photographs, it looks like that I would suspect that occasionally, sometimes the picture I'm taking might be paranormal, but very rarely do I try to take a picture to see if I can get something paranormal.

Just a few days ago, Greg and I were out shopping, and as we were leaving the parking lot, I looked out the car window, and I noticed beautiful goldenrod blooming in a nearby field. I felt compelled to take a picture of it, especially since I'm writing about our Southern Appalachian Mountain area, and I'm including a lot of pictures that are appropriate for my book. I thought that a goldenrod picture would be a great addition to it.

Greg parked out of the way of the traffic, and I got out of the car, and started taking pictures. I took several pictures, and I was satisfied that they were fine, but when we got home. and I saw them on the computer, I couldn't believe it. My pictures of the beautiful goldenrod were ruined!-

In the above photograph, the flowers and the green foliage in the background were not at all clear, and the photograph below was even worse-

It was very blurred! It looks as though I moved the camera, which I did not. Besides, at the bottom of both pictures, especially the last one, there is unmistakable ectoplasm!

Therefore, I had to conclude that these pictures were paranormal! My other two pictures of  the goldenrod were very similar to these two.

I reminded myself of previous pictures that I had taken that are a lot like the pictures above..

For example, I remembered the blog post I published on Saturday, May 15, 2021, which was entitled, "The (Haunted) Tavern," in which I described how haunted The Tavern in Abingdon, Virginia was. One of the interior shots that I took there was very blurred!

Another good example of blurring is a Saturday, May 16, 2020 "Spirit Photographs" blog post entitled, "A Haunted Cabin."

The pictures I took a few days ago were totally unexpected paranormal photographs, as most of my paranormal ones are.

I'm actually glad that my photos turned out the way they did, now, because good has come of the whole experience because-

-After I discovered that the photographs were paranormal, I decided that I would put them in this "Spirit Photographs" blog post since I happened to remember that I had nothing else for this post today.
-Also, I decided to research goldenrod. I discovered that it has some good qualities, of which, no doubt, most people are unaware. Goldenrod symbolizes good luck and prosperity. It's also supposed to be healing, positive, and encouraging. No wonder I was attracted to it! It's apparently a good omen!

Since I don't know exactly why some of my photographs are paranormal, I can only guess why they are. Usually, areas that are paranormal are the result of a person or an animal that has died there, especially if a lot of trauma was involved. The energy of the spirit remains in that area.

The next time that I contact my psychic, I'll ask her about it. Often, she can help the spirit move on to the light.

"A Haunted Carriage Ride!"

 Welcome!

A couple of weeks ago, Greg and I were traveling through Abingdon, Virginia late in the afternoon during the Virginia Highlands Festival, when Greg suddenly drew my attention to the horse-drawn carriage coming down the street. We were both surprised to see it since we didn't know that there were carriage rides in Abingdon.

I found out later that the Martha Washington Inn offers carriage rides for special events, like the Highlands Festival, as well as rides, regularly, certain days of the week.

I quickly pulled my camera out of my pocketbook and snapped a picture because I thought it would be great to put in my new book about the Southern Appalachian Mountains.

After I got home, I looked through the pictures that I had taken during that day. I was surprised, but not shocked, when I discovered that the picture that I had taken of the horse-drawn carriage had obvious ectoplasm in it!

A Carriage Ride Through Abingdon

I suppose you could say that those on the carriage went on a haunted carriage ride!, whether they realized it or not.

Here's a closeup of the ectoplasm in this photograph-

Notice the ectoplasm above, that goes all the way across the photograph in almost a straight line, from the brick building on the left, to the edge of the photograph on the right. There are large and small breaks in the ectoplasm, however. There is also ectoplasm on the carriage, and on the woman on the right side of the picture.

What is causing this ectoplasm? It could be that spirits are attracted to the carriage that brings back memories of earlier times.

This is not the only time that ectoplasm has shown up in my pictures of Abingdon. I believe that this beautiful, historic town is very haunted!

"An Unexpected Spirit Photograph, and a Trash Dump Update"

 Welcome!

At first, I didn't think that I had a photograph to show in this blog post for this month, but after I carefully looked through my photos on my camera, I notice this one that I took just a few days ago-

View of the Mountains and Field Near Where We Live

I'm fascinated with this view, and I'm planning to include a picture of it in my new book about Southern Appalachia, so I've taken several pictures of it, to try to get the perfect photo. When I took this picture, Greg and I were in the car, and Greg, of course, was driving, slowly, but I still had to quickly snap the camera.

It didn't turn out that well for what I had in mind for the book, but, it was an unexpected spirit photograph that I can use in this blog post! Notice the ectoplasm on, and to the left of the bush in the lower middle part of the photograph. There were no smudges on the windshield, so it couldn't have been from that. The only changes I made to the photograph were that I lightened it some, and I added the watermark.

I can only guess what caused the ectoplasm in this photograph. Although I do have a talent for taking spirit photographs, as I've said before, I have no idea how to interpret them. Since this ectoplasm is near the road, we could speculate that it perhaps has something to do with a death due to an accident. Also, since this is a farm that has cows, it could also have something to do with some of them passing away.

Also, I have a trash dump update-

A couple of weeks ago, we went to the dump to take our trash, and I took several pictures. Here is one of them-

A pretty view from the dump, but there's nothing paranormal in this one, or in any of the photos that I took that day!

In last month's blog post, "The Reason Why the Dump Is So Haunted," which was published on May 19, 2025, the psychic named Crystal worked on making it not-haunted. Looks like it may have worked! Time will tell.

"The Reason Why the Dump Is So Haunted!"

 Welcome!

In my 2/16/25 blog post, entitled "Two New Spirit Photographs," the second photograph in that post that I feature, shows a cat that lives at a dump. Most of the picture looks washed out, and there is definite ectoplasm to the right of the cat.

Here are two more pictures of the dump, and they also have ectoplasm!-

The first one (above) shows a man adding sticks, onto a large pile of tree limbs, etc. that's already there. Up above where the man is, you can see bits of ectoplasm on the pile.

The second photograph shows the same cat that was in the 2/16/25 blog post. In this photograph, you can easily see the ectoplasm to the left of the cat.

I mentioned in last month's post that I consulted an excellent psychic, that I call Crystal, about some of my spirit photographs that I needed to have interpreted.

I asked Crystal, why this dump was so haunted, and she said, without pausing, that a body had been placed in the dump in the 1930's or the 1940's! The spirit of the mother was looking for the body of her daughter. Crystal sent the spirit of the daughter to the spirit world so that the mother and daughter could be united.

"Spirit Photographs, Interpreted by a Psychic"

 Welcome!

I'm so happy to say that I'm finally getting to write and publish this month's "Spirit Photographs" blog post! I've been waiting to talk with a talented psychic who is really good at interpreting paranormal photographs. She finally got back to me today, so now I can let you know about the ectoplasm in some of my most recent photographs.

This will be a mini blog post this month, and also in May, since I need to spend most of my time writing my new book which should be published in June. As I mentioned last month, my book is about the area in which I live. Included in the book is a paranormal chapter which seems keep getting larger every few days because new paranormal things keep showing up in my photographs!

Here is my latest photograph of the rustic old shed that I often photograph-

This photo, which I cropped off so that you could see the ectoplasm better, has ectoplasm in several different areas, but mostly in the bushes and the trees.

The psychic (whom I'll call Crystal) didn't have to see the photo to tell me about it. She said that an old-timer was attached to the shack, and that other plain and simple people who are in spirit also hung out around there. The old man had had a hard life. His wife had died. She had loved him, and he wished that he had been more loving. He was hanging out there, in that area, since that was where he was happiest, but he missed his wife. Crystal was trying to get him to go to where his wife was, but she was having a difficult time convincing him since he believed that he could not go where his wife was. She said that she would keep working with him, however.

I previously featured this shack in my January 18, 2025 blog post entitled "More Ectoplasm!," and also in my February 16, 2025 post entitled "Two New Spirit Photographs."

Another photograph I asked Crystal about was the one I wrote about last month, on March 16, 2025, entitled "Unexpected Spirit Guests!" Crystal said that in that birthday photo, the spirits in the form of orbs and ectoplasm were my mother, grandmother, female family, and a great? grandfather.

Crystal told me about another spirit photograph which I'll tell you about next month, along with anything else that might show up in the meantime.

"Unexpected Spirit Guests!"

 Welcome!

A few weeks ago, several of us celebrated my birthday at our house, and we had a wonderful time. All of our positive energy seems to have attracted more guests than we had expected.

My brother Nick took this picture (below) of Greg and me after Greg had brought in my birthday cupcakes.

This photo shows that we had some unexpected spirit guests! The more, the merrier!

I'm not totally surprised by the orbs and ectoplasm behind me, on the wall, and even in the chair beside me! I can't wait to talk to my psychic so that she can let me know who these spirits are, but I think I have a good idea! I need to talk with her anyway about the photos in the last few blog posts that I've written, and also about some other photos I've taken in just the last few days, one of which is very unusual, totally unexpected!

I'm currently writing a new book about our area which should be published in the next couple of months, and one of the chapters will just pertain to the paranormal aspects of our area

I'll let you know more about my new book later.

My brother, taking this paranormal picture, is no surprise to me since he took his first paranormal picture when he was just a schoolboy. The picture he took was of the outside of famous June Tolliver House in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. When we got the pictures back, we noticed that there was a strange figure in the window.

If you'd like to know more about this photograph, the haunted June Tolliver House, etc., you might want to check out some interesting videos on YouTube. A few months ago, a team of ghost hunters, the Eastern Ky. Ghost Squad, went to the Tolliver House, and did a paranormal investigation.

To see these, go to YouTube and type in "June Tolliver House Ghost." Then scroll down to "Tour and History of the June Tolliver House: Pre-Investigation." This video is really good to set the stage for the other videos that are of the actual investigation. Toward the first of this video, there is a newspaper article from our local "Bristol Herald Courier" that shows a picture of the June Tolliver House with the ghost in the window. I wrote that article about my brother taking the ghost picture.

Later in the video, the tour guide mentions that I wrote a book about the paranormal, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind," which they have for sale in the Tolliver House gift shop. (To buy the Kindle version of my book, it's for sale on Amazon. If you are interested, just click on the widget above.)

The other two videos of the investigation itself are "Paranormal Investigation Pt. 1" and "Paranormal Investigation Pt. 2. Final."

My book has over 100 paranormal photographs that my brother Nick, my husband Greg, and I have taken throughout the years, mostly in our Southern Appalachian area. Nick and I seemed to have inherited our our ability to take paranormal photographs mostly from our father, and, of course, Greg and I are only related by marriage, but he has the same gift, as well. It must be because we are soulmates! (And, we think at least one of his parents has this same ability.)

"Two New Spirit Photographs"

 Welcome!

I've got two new spirit photographs to show you. One is similar to those I've shown a couple of times before.

It's a picture of an old rustic shed that I photograph nearly every time we go by there. I'm fascinated by the shed because ectoplasm shows up in almost all of the pictures I take of it.

Last week was no exception. I take a picture through our car windshield because there is no place to stop on that road, especially not on the big curve that is near the shed

Here is my latest shed photograph-

When I first saw this photo in my camera, I wondered if there was anything paranormal about it. However, I knew that I would have to put it on our home computer before I could tell anything about it. I had to enlarge it, and when I did, I saw quite a bit of ectoplasm near a pole on the property.

Here is a much closer view which shows the obvious ectoplasm-

The ectoplasm shows up well against the dark background.

For a comparison of the different paranormal photographs I have taken of the old shed, you might want to check out two of my previous blog posts, one of which I published on Sunday, August 18, 2024 entitled "Paranormal Book," and the other one was "More Ectoplasm!," published on Saturday, January 18, 2025.

If you do compare them, you'll notice that the ectoplasm is never the same in any of  the photographs.

We drive by there every week when we take our trash to the dump which is about half a mile from the shed.

At the dump, I sometimes take pictures of the beautiful scenery since there is a really nice view from there.

Last week, however, I saw a cat there, and since I love animals, especially cats, and since this one reminded me of a cat that we used to have, I decided to take its picture-

Since I had to hurriedly take the picture, it didn't turn out very well, but upon closer examination of the photo, it was obviously paranormal. This was totally unexpected!

I usually don't take a picture of something to see if it will turn out to be paranormal (except for something special like the old shed), so I'm usually very surprised when I see something like this cat-at-the-dump photo.

Besides the obvious ectoplasm at the bottom of the trash bin on the right, the whole picture looks washed out! (Compare this photo to the photo of the shed which I had taken only five to ten minutes earlier.)

I really don't know what to think about the ectoplasm near the rustic shed, or at the dump, but I do know who to ask, a really good psychic that I often consult about puzzling things such as these.

What do you think about the ectoplasm in these spirit photographs?

Please check back with me next month when I should have some intriguing answers for you!

"More Ectoplasm!"

 Welcome!

I hope your new year is going great!

I've been so busy with projects for the past few weeks, that even though I've taken a lot of pictures, I'm not getting many paranormal ones. Also, I've been having some sinus problems, but thankfully, I'm better than I was. My point is, that in order to take paranormal photographs, I believe you need to be in good shape, both physically and mentally, just like you really need to be in good shape to accomplish most things in life.

I'm seriously working on resting more and taking better care of myself as my most important new year's resolution.

We'll see how that goes. Who knows? I might just have enough paranormal photographs soon to add to a new paranormal book that I could write in the near future!

Anyway, I do have one photograph to share with you that I took a few weeks ago-

If this photo looks familiar, it may be because I featured this very shed in my August 18, 2024 blog post entitled, "Paranormal Book."

This old building fascinates me because it's so picturesque. It's on a country road in a rural area in Southwest Virginia. We often travel that road, and most of the time, as we drive by, I try to take a picture of it for an upcoming book that I'm writing about our Southern Appalachian area. I'll feature the best picture that I take of it in the book.

The reason that I'm featuring it in this blog post, is that, as you might guess, there is something paranormal about it just as there was in the photograph that I featured of it in the August blog post. Do you see what it is?

Here's a close-up of the photo-

There is ectoplasm to the left of this building, in the foreground, and also, on the fence railing above.

Yes, there is more ectoplasm, again generally in the same area as it was in the August photo.

When Greg looked at this picture, he wondered if that was a tombstone in the background. If so, that might help explain the ectoplasm!

Please stay tuned as we do further research!

If you haven't seen my paranormal Kindle book on Amazon, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind," you might want to check it out by clicking the widget above.

Haunted!

 Welcome!

I guess you've probably heard that "A picture is worth a thousand words." (Frederick R. Barnard)

I couldn't describe today's "Spirit Photographs" blog post picture any better myself!

So, here's the photograph that I recently took that I don't think needs much explanation-

I've hardly ever seen that much ectoplasm in any of the other pictures that I've taken. The sun is helping it to manifest. The ectoplasm is up high, on the porch, and even on the ground. This building must be really haunted!

The reason I took this photo is because I'm writing a book on the Southern Appalachian Mountains, and in one chapter, I am going to show how some of our old houses have been converted into businesses. This is not a very good picture from a photography standpoint, but looking at it paranormally, I guess it turned out pretty well!

Also, because of this very photo, I decided to include a chapter about the paranormal in my new book. I could call the chapter, "Haunted Appalachia!" The book should be ready for publishing in a few weeks.

I'll feature it on my blogs when it's published. It will be available for sale on Amazon in both the paperback and Kindle versions.

I already have a paranormal Kindle book on Amazon, "Photographic Encounters of  the Spirit Kind," which is about haunted places from Appalachia to Europe that you might find interesting. The photos were mostly taken by me, my husband, Greg, and my brother, Nick.

"A Haunted House, Revisited, and UFO's"

 Welcome!

In my May 20, 2023 blog post, "A Haunted House," I told about an old, unoccupied house in Abingdon, Virginia that apparently was haunted.

A couple of weeks ago, Greg and I drove by the same house, and I took another quick picture just to remind myself to go back by later when we had more time so I could take more pictures for a new book that I'm writing.

Old Haunted House

When I put this picture on our computer, I noticed a few strange things about it. I should have known that my latest photograph of this old house would also show signs that the place was still haunted!

Unmistakably, there was ectoplasm on the tree on the right (which I noticed first). Upon closer examination, I also noticed ectoplasm on the garage roof, on the bush which is on the right side of the house, and, to the right of the bush, there is also a relatively large amount of ectoplasm on the ground. Actually, in addition to the house being haunted, we must conclude that the land around it is also haunted, just like it was in the previous blog post about this house.

Someone has recently been working on the house and yard, and I imagine that this activity has probably activated the spirits even more.

I don't know what's to become of this house, but if someone buys it, they will either live in it or use it as a business since it has been used as both previously. The new owners will probably be in for a big surprise!

I was recently talking to a woman that I know, and she told me about an experience that she and her mother had one day when they were looking out of their kitchen window. Shockingly, they saw a UFO! Not something you'd normally expect to see when you're looking out of your window!

Another person we know, a man, said that he and a co-worker were briefly outside, and when they looked up, they saw a white peanut-shaped UFO that turned into a triangular-shaped one, and simply disappeared! The whole episode lasted about five minutes. One of the stunned men said that he had never previously believed in UFO's, but that he was a believer now!

Unfortunately, none of the above people got to take any pictures. The first thing that would occur to me would be to take pictures since I am so wrapped up in photography. If anything seems unusual, or out of the ordinary, etc., I always grab my camera. However, at the same time, I can still understand why they wouldn't take any pictures, since seeing something like a UFO would be pretty shocking!

There was a UFO festival held earlier this year in Wytheville, Virginia. It's called Wytheville UFO Fest. We didn't get to go to the one this year, but if there is a festival next year, we plan to be there. If I find out something about next year's UFO festival, you'll be the first to know!

"A Haunted Tourist Information Center!"

 Welcome!

I'm working on a new book, so Greg and I recently stopped by a nearby tourist information center in Southwest Virginia to do some research. While there, we decided to take some pictures.

I took a few photographs while we were outside-

Tourist Information Center

I photographed the fall decorations, and I was surprised to later discover ectoplasm in this photograph-

The photo (above) is a detail from a picture I took of  one of the Virginia "Love" signs that are scattered throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. Notice the ectoplasm between the fall figure's leg and the yellow flowers. There appears to be even more ectoplasm on the ground.

(In an earlier blog post that I wrote on Saturday, December 18, 2021, entitled "Haunted Gatlinburg, Tennessee," I wrote about similar cartoon-like figures that had quite a bit of ectoplasm around them. I feel like spirits are attracted to these types of figures because they miss having a body.)

We finally went into this old house that had the tourist information, as well as nice displays of the area. We talked with the lady that worked there (whose name was Shannon), and got her permission to take pictures inside.

I started to take a picture of one of the rooms, but my camera hesitated, and the image looked blurred through the lens. I turned around and asked Shannon if the house was haunted, and I wasn't at all surprised when she said that it was.

(I finally took a picture of that room, but nothing paranormal showed up-

My camera did malfunction in this room earlier so I know that it is haunted, probably because of all of the old pictures and other objects in there.)

Shannon then began to tell me the things that she had seen, like objects that had been moved around during the night while no one was there. She said that she had heard strange things, as well.

Also, three cats live in the house, and Shannon said that they often act as if they see things that she can't see. (Cats, and other animals, too, as a rule, often see things that are paranormal since they are apparently more psychic than most people are.)

One of the Three Resident Cats

When we were about ready to leave, we decided to take pictures of a couple of old mirrors. While we didn't get anything in one mirror, we did get something in this one-

The white streaks at the top of the photo look like they are part of a paranormal grid which is a pretty common phenomenon in paranormal photography. Greg's photo was very similar to mine.

As we were leaving, we suggested that Shannon try taking some pictures herself to see if she could get anything paranormal like we did, since we believed that she was psychic, too. We told her her that she needed to use the flash if she was hoping to get paranormal images in mirrors.

While Greg and I were there at the tourist info center just to do research for a book, we ended up with more than we had bargained for, an old haunted house, and there are a lot more of those than you could ever imagine!

"Paranormal Book"

 Welcome!

Greg and I recently went to a local writers fair, and I told another author about my book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind." I explained what the book was about since she was really curious and intrigued about Greg's and my ability to take pictures of the paranormal.

I told her that we didn't see spirits before we took pictures, and that most of the time, we don't intend to take paranormal photographs. Instead, the spirits just show up in our photos when we least expect them.

For example, a few days ago, I was taking pictures for a new book that I am writing about the picturesque area in which we live, never intending to get anything paranormal, when I noticed that something paranormal did show up!-

Notice the large balls of ectoplasm or orbs to the left of the old building. They show up really well against the dark foliage.

This ectoplasm could be the spirits of either people or animals that died recently, or they may have been in this area for many years, or even for centuries! What types of animals, or humans were these? If they were the spirits of people, were they perhaps those of cave men, Native Americans, or pioneers?

What caused this paranormal phenomenon? I can only make an educated guess since I'm good at taking paranormal pictures, but I have no idea how to interpret them.

I leave the interpretation of paranormal phenomena to the experts, genuine psychics who specialize in these things.

In my paranormal book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind Ordinary People, Extraordinary Encounters," I was fortunate enough to have a gifted psychic, Elaine Watson, who is now deceased, to explain most of the (Over 100!) photographs in my book that Greg, my brother, Nick, and I took.

A few of the intriguing chapters in the book are, "Unusual Ectoplasm," "Shadow Ghosts," and "My Childhood Home," as well as others.

The Kindle version of my book is now on Amazon. For more information, please see the widget above for more details.

"Paranormal Photographs"

 Welcome!

In this blog post today, I have a few unusual photographs that I'd like to share with you. In fact, these photographs are either paranormal themselves, or they have some paranormal connection to them.

First of all, I have a photo that I featured in a blog post several years ago of an angel statue.

An incident with the statue happened when we lived in another state, and when we moved, we brought the statue with us. I'm keeping it for sentimental reasons, even though it is in need of repair. In my earlier post, I tell how the statue appeared to have moved by itself! I contacted a psychic about it, and what she told me was amazing! See my previous post, entitled "Spirit Communications" which was published on 10/5/15 for more intriguing information about this statue.

Here's another intriguing photograph I took a few weeks ago when we were at a park on the Greenbelt in Kingsport, Tennessee-

Notice anything unusual about the foreground of this photo? See any ectoplasm?

Many times when I am taking pictures of this area, I get ectoplasm in my photographs. I consulted a psychic about this phenomenon, and she said that this whole area was enchanted! In some of my previous photos, my pictures of the river look like nothing but ectoplasm!

In fact, I have so many paranormal photos of so many different things since I wrote my first book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind," that I'm thinking about writing a second book about the paranormal. (Please see the widget above for more information about the Kindle version of my current paranormal book on Amazon.)

Finally, I have two photographs about something unusual that Greg and I are still wondering about-

This is a photographic recreation of what happened yesterday.

I had put our dirty towels in the washing machine, and while I was working in our nearby kitchen, I heard the machine going really fast, shaking things in the laundry room, to the point that it sounded like the two clean baskets on the adjacent dryer had fallen on the floor. I rushed in there to see what had happened, when to my surprise, I noticed that the larger basket was still on the dryer. Somehow, though, the smaller basket had ended right-side up in the dirty clothes basket which was already on the floor. Now, how could that have possibly happened!

Was that paranormal, or what? So weird! This incident seems to have defied the law of physics! Guess I'll have to consult my favorite psychic about this one!

What do you think?

Please stay tuned!

"Strange, Paranormal, Unexplained"

Welcome!

In this blog post, I'm going to touch on a few things that are strange, even paranormal.

There are so many things in this world that are unexplained, things that we just don't quite understand.

Here are some unusual things that have come to my attention in just the past few weeks-

~Yesterday, I happened to think about an old mirror that is in our memorabilia room, and I began wondering if it was haunted like the one I wrote about in my last blog post which was published on May 19, 2024 that was entitled, "A Haunted Mirror!"

Today, I took a picture of the old mirror in the memorabilia room...

but Greg and I can't say for sure that it is haunted. There is no paranormal grid like in the mirror in last month's blog post, but the white streaks, etc.in the mirror in the above photograph could be ectoplasm, or they could even be caused by the camera flash. I have found that in order to capture anything paranormal in a mirror, the flash needs to be on.

If this mirror were haunted by some negative entity, it would be unfortunate since the mirror is on a cabinet that is attached to the wall. That would make it difficult to remove the mirror. Of course, as an alternative, we could just say a prayer and do a ritual to hopefully get rid of any bad spirits. So far, though, we haven't noticed anything negative because of this mirror, thank goodness!

A really strange thing happened just a few days ago when I was looking in the kitchen for something to show Greg. When I opened one of the doors of our island, which I don't open very often, I couldn't believe it when I found a box of prescription medicine on top of some old cookbooks that I had stored in there.

The medicine was not ours since we don't take medicine anymore. It had belonged to the previous owner of our house, and in the five years that we have lived here, we have never even seen this box of medicine before. How did it suddenly end up on top of my old cookbook collection?

(The owner's name, etc. is on the other side of this box, but for privacy's sake, I, of course, can't show it.)

This is very strange!  This is something to ask our favorite psychic about whenever I talk with her again! Her comments about it should be very interesting!

Also, here is an interesting tidbit- Not long ago, on "Coast to Coast AM," there was a story about Hulk Hogan, the wrestling great, who said that his rival had sent him a voicemail two days after he had died!

For lots more about the paranormal, be sure and check out my Kindle book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind." Please see the widget above for more information.

"Eerie, Strange, Paranormal..."

 Welcome!

I have some things to share with you today that are eerie, strange, paranormal. Some of these are weird things that have happened to others, and some are personal, that Greg and I have recently experienced.

"Many paranormal enthusiasts believe staircases are spiritual vortexes, attracting ascending (and descending!) spirits. At the Biltmore (estate in Asheville, North Carolina), visitor accounts of odd occurrences on the stairs soar in firsthand accounts detailed in online reports and comments."-  https://www.onlyinyourstate.com/north-carolina/haunted-biltmore-in-asheville-nc/

"Most of the visitors had reported seeing spirits going up or down the stairs. Sounds of footsteps had also been heard on multiple occasions. Not to be outdone, there have been reports of strange smells, cold spots, and eerie feelings when visitors would go up or down the stairs."-  https://ashevilleterrors.com/biltmore-estate/

Our Cat Kallie on Our Stairway, Not Long Before Her Passing

In my two previous blog posts (on 1/21/24 and 2/20/24), I wrote about losing our beloved cat, Kallie, to an illness, and about the paranormal things that manifested as a result of her passing.

Well, these paranormal events are continuing to happen.

During the past few weeks since my last "Spirit Photographs" blog post, here are some strange things that Greg and I have encountered- (We are convinced that they are manifesting because Kallie is trying to communicate with us.)

~Here is a photograph I took of a tree right outside our dining room window when it was sleeting a few weeks ago-

In the photo above, notice what appears to be white ectoplasm near the top of the tree and the violet ectoplasm at the bottom of the tree. (Is this ectoplasm related to Kallie?)

~A couple of weeks later, Greg and I were upstairs, and just as we were leaving one room and entering the cat room, I heard a distinctive meow that sounded exactly like Kallie. Our cat, Mitzi, was downstairs, so we know it wasn't her. Besides, cats have distinctive meows, just like people have distinctive voices.

~Then, just a few nights ago, I was upstairs again, and Greg came up and told me that he had heard a loud noise in the kitchen, like a pan dropping. He said that he and Mitzi had run into the kitchen, but he saw nothing. He said that Mitzi went over near the pet drinking fountain, and was looking around. It's very possible that it was Kallie that had made that noise because she seemed to really love the new fountain that we had gotten for the cats a few weeks before she passed away. Mitzi must have sensed Kallie's presence, or maybe even saw her there. (Many animals are very psychic. They can often see and hear things in the spirit world that we can't.)

~One night, I was working on the computer in our study, when I began to hear a loud clinking noise that sounded like it came from the kitchen. It was the loud distinctive sound of Kallie's claw, hitting her water dish, to make the water move, as she had done many times before.

~One day, I was in the kitchen, when I heard a noise in the nearby laundry room, and I noticed a cardboard cat food box had fallen over by itself.

There will, no doubt, be more manifestations here at our house in the future, but we don't mind. It's so reassuring that Kallie is letting us know that she's still with us, at least part of the time, since she was such an important part of our lives.

According to our psychic, a new cat is supposed to be coming to our house in the spring, which begins in just two days. Please stay tuned!

Happy spring!
