"Unexpected Spirit Guests!"

 Welcome!

A few weeks ago, several of us celebrated my birthday at our house, and we had a wonderful time. All of our positive energy seems to have attracted more guests than we had expected.

My brother Nick took this picture (below) of Greg and me after Greg had brought in my birthday cupcakes.

This photo shows that we had some unexpected spirit guests! The more, the merrier!

I'm not totally surprised by the orbs and ectoplasm behind me, on the wall, and even in the chair beside me! I can't wait to talk to my psychic so that she can let me know who these spirits are, but I think I have a good idea! I need to talk with her anyway about the photos in the last few blog posts that I've written, and also about some other photos I've taken in just the last few days, one of which is very unusual, totally unexpected!

I'm currently writing a new book about our area which should be published in the next couple of months, and one of the chapters will just pertain to the paranormal aspects of our area

I'll let you know more about my new book later.

My brother, taking this paranormal picture, is no surprise to me since he took his first paranormal picture when he was just a schoolboy. The picture he took was of the outside of famous June Tolliver House in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. When we got the pictures back, we noticed that there was a strange figure in the window.

If you'd like to know more about this photograph, the haunted June Tolliver House, etc., you might want to check out some interesting videos on YouTube. A few months ago, a team of ghost hunters, the Eastern Ky. Ghost Squad, went to the Tolliver House, and did a paranormal investigation.

To see these, go to YouTube and type in "June Tolliver House Ghost." Then scroll down to "Tour and History of the June Tolliver House: Pre-Investigation." This video is really good to set the stage for the other videos that are of the actual investigation. Toward the first of this video, there is a newspaper article from our local "Bristol Herald Courier" that shows a picture of the June Tolliver House with the ghost in the window. I wrote that article about my brother taking the ghost picture.

Later in the video, the tour guide mentions that I wrote a book about the paranormal, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind," which they have for sale in the Tolliver House gift shop. (To buy the Kindle version of my book, it's for sale on Amazon. If you are interested, just click on the widget above.)

The other two videos of the investigation itself are "Paranormal Investigation Pt. 1" and "Paranormal Investigation Pt. 2. Final."

My book has over 100 paranormal photographs that my brother Nick, my husband Greg, and I have taken throughout the years, mostly in our Southern Appalachian area. Nick and I seemed to have inherited our our ability to take paranormal photographs mostly from our father, and, of course, Greg and I are only related by marriage, but he has the same gift, as well. It must be because we are soulmates! (And, we think at least one of his parents has this same ability.)

Thanks for visiting! Until around Saturday, April 19, 2025, Becky

"Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind"

 Welcome!

A couple of days ago, I was in our art room, and as I glanced around the room, I decided to go over to the area where I had my first book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind," displayed.

Some Copies of My First Book on Display

I then thought that some people that are interested in the paranormal might not be aware that I have this book for sale that has over 100 genuine paranormal photographs that I, my husband, Greg, and my brother, Nick, and a few other people that we know have taken.

June Tolliver House Ghost Photo

I have a copy of the famous June Tolliver House ghost photo which hangs in our art room. It was taken by my brother, Nick, when he was just a school boy. Everyone in our family thought that it looked like there was a ghost in one of the June Tolliver House windows in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. However, just to make sure, we took it to a locally famous photographer in our area, and after he enlarged and studied it, he didn't know what to think since the ghostly image was still there. Even when it was enlarged to poster-size, the apparent ghost remained!

This was our first excursion into the world of paranormal photography. Later, we gradually discovered that I had the gift of paranormal photography, too! After I married Greg, we were amazed that many of his photos also contained supernatural images.

So, we decided that since we had so many supernatural photos that I should write a book telling about many of them. (Not all of our photos made it into the book since there were so many that they would probably fill a large dictionary-sized book, so we narrowed them down to a few of our favorites.)

And, the photos just keep coming! Some day I may write another book which includes many of the paranormal photos I've featured on this blog, plus others that we've yet to show.

Not only is each photograph explained in the book, but there are also real ghost stories told by people in our region in the book, as well. One of these stories is about a haunted car which one of my former students wrote about and shared with me.

My book features paranormal photographs from my childhood which my father took, (Guess my brother and I got our unusual talent from him!) until recent years. They were mostly taken in our Southern Appalachian Mountain region, but some were taken as far away as Europe. (Boy, is that area haunted!)

There are chapters about ectoplasm, orbs, shadow ghosts, and a few featuring rarely documented images like the ghost in the mirror at one of our holiday gatherings!

To get the Kindle version of "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind" on Amazon for just $2.99, please click the widget above.*

Enjoy!

And Happy Spring!

*The paperback version is no longer available for sale.

Thanks for visiting! Until Saturday, April 16, 2022, Becky

June Tolliver House Ghost Photo

Welcome!

During this time of year, when ghosts rule, more people start searching for June Tolliver ghost info.

The June Tolliver House Last Year, with an Artist's Rendition of the June Tolliver House Ghost

It all started when my brother, who was just a school boy, took a picture of the June Tolliver house in Big Stone Gap, Virginia.  What showed up in that upstairs window, has led to much speculation.  Because of that picture, taken on an Easter Sunday, many years ago, I discovered that not only my brother, but that I also had a gift for taking paranormal photos.  Years later, strangely enough, when I got married, I discovered that my husband had this gift as well!

After a while, we had lots of paranormal photographs in our albums, so I decided to write a book about them.  The book, of course, is "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind."

Yes, I did write about the June Tolliver House ghost picture.  In fact, there is a whole chapter devoted to the June Tolliver House in my book.  The now famous ghost picture is even on the cover of the book.

People want to know how to get a copy of "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind."  On my "Spirit Photographs" blog, you can just click on my book widget at the top of the page, or on my Facebook page, you can click on "About," then under "Description," just click on "See more," and that will tell you where all you can get a copy for yourself and/or one for someone else.

Also, I've written several blog posts about the June Tolliver House.  Just take a look at my "Spirit Photographs" blog and see for yourself!

Halloween Season Must-sees

Welcome!

There are many great Halloween-type things this year that I'd like to make you aware of in the next few weeks leading up to Halloween.

A Supposed-to-Be-Haunted House in Our Town (Do you see anything strange?)

First of all, there's an interesting, really well-done all-year-long blog devoted to "celebrate all things Halloween,"  " Something wicKED this way comes."  It's in high gear right now that the Halloween season is almost upon us.

The blogger for the above-mentioned blog is Ked from my old hometown of Big Stone Gap, Virginia.  In fact, he and his family were our next-door neighbors.  He got his love of Halloween from his mother who would often dress up in a creepy costume on Halloween night, knock on our door, and scare the living daylights out of us!  It was all in fun, and we loved it!

So, to put some scary and fun in your Halloween, be sure and check out Ked's blog:

Reminder, tomorrow (Sunday) night, The Weather Channel's new series, "American Super/Natural" is on  10/9 c with an episode entitled, "Legend of the Gray Man."  The preview, in my opinion, was pretty scary!

Also, the next episode of Syfy's "Ghost Hunters" (Wednesday 9/8 c) involves the overwhelming smell of chocolate during one of their investigations which is a very appropriate smell just in time for Halloween (as in "trick-or-TREAT"! Yum!).

On my next post, I'll fill you in on a must-see and -do haunted place that I believe you'd love if you the paranormal is your thing!

Thanks for visiting!  Until next Saturday (if you dare!), Becky
