Haunted!

 Welcome!

I guess you've probably heard that "A picture is worth a thousand words." (Frederick R. Barnard)

I couldn't describe today's "Spirit Photographs" blog post picture any better myself!

So, here's the photograph that I recently took that I don't think needs much explanation-

I've hardly ever seen that much ectoplasm in any of the other pictures that I've taken. The sun is helping it to manifest. The ectoplasm is up high, on the porch, and even on the ground. This building must be really haunted!

The reason I took this photo is because I'm writing a book on the Southern Appalachian Mountains, and in one chapter, I am going to show how some of our old houses have been converted into businesses. This is not a very good picture from a photography standpoint, but looking at it paranormally, I guess it turned out pretty well!

Also, because of this very photo, I decided to include a chapter about the paranormal in my new book. I could call the chapter, "Haunted Appalachia!" The book should be ready for publishing in a few weeks.

I'll feature it on my blogs when it's published. It will be available for sale on Amazon in both the paperback and Kindle versions.

I already have a paranormal Kindle book on Amazon, "Photographic Encounters of  the Spirit Kind," which is about haunted places from Appalachia to Europe that you might find interesting. The photos were mostly taken by me, my husband, Greg, and my brother, Nick.

Also, wishing you a happy, blessed Thanksgiving!

"Our Beloved Spirit Cat" (Part 2)

 Welcome!

This blog post* is part 2, a continuation of last month's post that I wrote on 1/21/24.**

As I said in my previous post, Greg, our cat, Mitzi, and I all miss our cat, Kallie. (We also have an outdoor cat, Kit-Cat, but there was very little interaction between our indoor cats and our outdoor one. Also, Kallie and Mitzi were littermates.)

Here's a picture of Mitzi on the loveseat in our study where Kallie often enjoyed lying. Mitzi hardly ever lay on it until Kallie passed away.

Beside Mitzi is a toy that Kallie loved.

During a psychic reading, I asked Crystal if Kallie was coming back to us as another cat, but to my great disappointment, she said that she was not, that she'll see us when we pass over, that she'll be the first one to greet us there. For now, she just wants to rest from the illness that took its toll on her.

Instead, Kallie told us about another cat that was coming to us in the spring. It will be a little young female who looks younger than she is. She is nice, sweet, and loving. She'll walk right up to our house.

Kallie also told us about another cat, an older male (around six to eight years old) who is stoic, dignified, and sweet. She said that he was at our local pet shop.

Greg and I decided that the younger female cat that's coming to us in the spring would be better for us than the male cat, but we decided to go by the pet shop to see if there was a cat there that she had described, and there was!

There were only about six cats at the shop, and there was an eight-year-old male cat that Kallie had told us about. We were stunned! Amazing reading!

Crystal said that Kallie was smart, alert, and cool., and that she knows what she wants. Kallie said that she wanted to give another cat a chance to live in a home where there was love and kindness.

Kallie was not just a cat; she was more like a human, the nicest person you would ever meet. She was very spiritual, the embodiment of unconditional love. If people were all like Kallie, what a wonderful world this would be!

She was mature. (She was more like Mitzi's mother than her sibling.) She was also graceful, beautiful, and photogenic. She and Mitzi are in both of my books. Kit-Cat is in my second book. Kallie and Mitzi are also on a stock photo site for which I am a contributor. For more information, please check out my website, www.beckyarnottartist.com.

We buried Kallie in one of our garden areas which is near our cabin. We'll put a custom-designed stone with a heart on her grave in the spring.

Notice Kallie's ectoplasm at the top of the bush. Her grave is behind the bush.

A few days ago, after my birthday celebration, I went upstairs to put away a few things, and as I was walking through our cat room, I heard a familiar clicking sound that seemed to move around the room. I called out to Greg who was downstairs, and asked him to come up quickly to see what he thought of the sound. Thankfully, he got to hear it, too. We finally decided that it was like the sound that Kallie would make when she was hitting her paws against her water dish before drinking. She liked to watch the water move in the dish.

I think it was Kallie's way of letting us know that she was still around, and that she just wanted to wish me a happy birthday!

We were so lucky for the time that we had with Kallie, who was more like our child than our pet (So are Mitzi and Kit-Cat!), and we look forward to seeing her in the future.

We're also looking forward to spring this year, for more reasons than one!

"Haunted Places"

 Welcome!

There is always something paranormal to write about since there are so many haunted places!

In this blog post, I have three instances of paranormal occurrences.

The first one is an update about an old house and the land it sits on, in Abingdon, Virginia. I previously wrote about it in my last two "Spirit Photographs" blog posts. (Please see my Saturday, May 20 and Saturday, June 17, 2023 posts for more information about this house and land.)

Recently, I talked with a psychic about this property, and she said that the ectoplasm was there because of "Civil War stuff." (Apparently, Civil War battles were really widespread throughout this whole region. She'd told me previously that battles were fought on the land where we live.)

She said that the bright ball of ectoplasm on the ground to the right...

From a Previous Photograph

was the spirit of a Confederate soldier who was 22 years old when he was killed fighting. He was in pain before he died. He had a girlfriend, and he felt sad that he wouldn't get to have a future life.

There were dead people around him. (See the other ectoplasm to the left of the ball of ectoplasm.) So his trauma was left there, along with the trauma of the others.

In my two previous posts, there was also ectoplasm near and on the house. I assume that it was also related to the Civil War, although she didn't say so.

I have a second photograph of a hill that is behind a regional garden center. I took the picture because I thought it would make a nice photograph, but little did I know that faint ectoplasm would show up in the lower center of the photo, near the rocks.

I assume that this hill is haunted because one or more animals (or even a person) probably died there, no telling how long ago.

Lastly, I heard about an abandoned, creepy town here in the United States that is so haunted that it's illegal to even visit there! The town is Dudley Town, Connecticut. It is believed that the strange deaths and other weird happenings there were the result of the Dudley family curse.

Not only is this a place you wouldn't want to visit, you certainly wouldn't want to live there, even if you could!

Weird Happenings at the Cabin

Welcome!

On my 5/16/20 "Spirit Photographs" blog post, "A Haunted Cabin," I wrote about the unfinished cabin that is on our property. I had done a ritual of smudging using white sage, and I had convinced myself that the cabin was free of any paranormal activity, but now, I don't think so for two reasons.

First of all, one day, a few weeks ago, I went on the porch of the cabin to see about the plant that was there, when I heard an unexplained noise come from inside the cabin. This is not unusual as this has happened before.

Then, just moments later, I felt the floor of the porch slightly, subtly, and briefly vibrate beneath my feet. I couldn't believe what I was feeling, since I would never have suspected something like that would happen. That was really weird, to say the least!

Cabin Porch

Then, a few days later, I saw Greg out working in the yard, and I decided to take a picture of him as an example of  a person doing something that he loved to do for my other blog, "The Art of Positive Living."

That little plan was foiled, however, when, despite my holding my camera perfectly still, the whole picture looked as though I'd shaken it on purpose! I've encountered this same phenomenon before when in the presence of paranormal activity.

The cabin is directly behind the tree that Greg is standing in front of.

I started to wonder why the sage ritual that had worked successfully for me before had apparently not worked on the cabin. I finally decided that the new sage that I'd used was barely smoking, and that I'd have to work on the sage to make it burn better to get better results.

We have been really busy working on our house the past few months, and I haven't had much extra time to devote to working anything such as the paranormal. However, I'm going to carve out some time soon to rid the cabin of  the weird happenings taking place there.

In a few months we hope to either rent out the cabin or to use it as a guest cottage, but the way things are now, I don't believe anyone would want to stay there unless they are real ghost enthusiasts with nerves of steel!

I'll have an update next month on the cabin, plus, Greg and are are planning to visit a creepy area near where we live soon, so please stay tuned!

Haunted Buildings in Southwest Virginia

Welcome!

And, I'd just like to thank those that have sent me nice comments about my blogs, "Spirit Photographs" and "The Art of Positive Living."

In past blog posts, I've written that our 1901 farmhouse which we've been in for less than a year is haunted, and that I was doing a space cleansing of our house. I plan to do even more cleansing in the next few weeks. I'll tell you the results of those cleansings, plus more strange stories associated with our house on my May blog post.

Our house is not the only place that's haunted in this area of Southwest Virginia.

There are several other buildings that are haunted, as well. Three of them are below. They all house businesses.

This old house (above) is now a restaurant in Abingdon, Virginia. I blotted out the name of the business since I'm not sure the owners would want it to be known that there's more going on here than the serving of good food! Notice the orbs and ectoplasm on the upper right side of the building.

I'm not sure why this photograph is blurred. It could be that the car moved just as I was taking this photo through the car windshield, or it could be that the eerie energy of the place caused the blurring. Blurred or not, there are several obs and ectoplasm in front of, and near this building which used to be a Masonic lodge. It's now a fine bakery in Bristol, Virginia.

Finally, this is a health clinic in the small town of Meadowview. The orbs and ectoplasm are similar to the first photo on this blog post. Maybe spirits are here because illness is associated with this building.

Elaine Watson, the excellent psychic who advised me when I wrote my book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind," which is for sale on Amazon, (Please see the widget above.) would have said that in these three photos (above) that "Spirits can draw on the sun's energy...in order to manifest."

Please stay tuned for more in May!

Large Orbs, and a Ghostly Handyman?

Welcome!

First of all, I have two really intriguing spirit photographs to show you that my sister-in-law Cris sent to me.

Here is the first one-

Several years ago, Cris's friend took a picture (above) of Cris, two llamas, and several orbs on a cold night in the snow. A couple of the orbs are rather large.

Her picture-taker friend has a gift for taking spirit photographs just as Cris herself does, as evidenced by another photograph she sent me-

This is a photo that Cris took of a large family reunion and a large orb! To the left of the orb in the center is another faint orb.

Spirits seem to be drawn to places where there are special gatherings of people like at reunions, churches, parties, holidays, etc.

Thanks, Cris, for sending these great photographs of orbs!

Although I don't have any spirit photographs to show of my own this month (which is unusual for me!), I do have a personal spirit story to tell, that just happened today!

Late this afternoon, Greg and I went to our storage building which is behind our house. I don't often go there with Greg, but there was something I wanted to put in there while he looked for something he needed.

As he turned the door knob, he said that he had noticed for the past week that the door knob to the building wasn't loose any more, that it was like a handyman had come by and fixed it, although no one had. He was so desperate for an answer that he even asked me if I had fixed it. (Now that's funny! Ha, ha!)

He even theorized that the cold weather might have tightened it up!

He had thought about fixing it himself, but wasn't quite sure how to do it, so he'd put off working on it. Also, he's been busy working on other, more pressing projects lately.

Then, we looked at each other, and had to be honest with ourselves about how the door knob got fixed-The man who had lived in our house, and had expertly built the cabin on our property, and had died a few months ago, apparently had put his skill to work on "his" doorknob! He either just loves doing that type of work or he saw a need and fixed it or he has finally accepted us, and decided to help us out!

Now, if he would just go upstairs in our house and do some work on a couple of unfinished rooms, (We're having to wait for a carpenter to come and do some work.) we'd be even happier and more appreciative!

Wishing you a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

Mini Blog Post-Haunted Franklin, Tennessee

Welcome!

This is a mini blog post about historic Franklin, Tennessee which I believe is very haunted from the pictures I've taken in the past.

Here is an example photograph to illustrate what I mean-

This is a photo of the old courthouse in Franklin which I took while visiting a couple of weeks ago. There are some reflections in the windows from the sky, but, the extreme upper left-hand window looks really strange. It even looks like there is snow and ice on the tree limb near that window. There is ectoplasm in other parts of the photo as you can see.

I'm not the only one who believes that Franklin is haunted since there is actually a ghost tour of Franklin. Greg and I plan to go on that tour in a week or two, and I'll share that experience with you on this "Spirit Photographs" blog next month.

We hope to get lots of interesting photos!

The Old Doctor's Haunted House, Revisited

Welcome!

In my last "Spirit Photographs" blog post that I published on 2/17/18 entitled "Paranormal Photos, One Real and One Not Real!" I told about how a little ghost boy that I saw was not real.

However, since I wrote that post, I revisited the same old doctor's house, and from the last photo I took, I have concluded that it is indeed haunted! Of course, I haven't gotten to go into the house to take any photos since it is a private residence, but I feel sure that Greg and I would get several paranormal photos if we were allowed to go inside.

 The Old Doctor's House

Orbs and ectoplasm abound in this photo; they are on the house, on some of the windows, on the front door, on the rock wall, etc. Some of the orbs and ectoplasm are white and others are in color. Most of them have come in on sunbeams like psychic Elaine Watson explained in my paranormal book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind."

If we ever have a chance to go into the house to photograph it, I will write about it here on this blog. Our best chance to go in to take photos would be whenever the people living there move out. That could be soon because no one ever lives in that house for very long. Wonder why!

"Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind" is now available either in paperback or as a kindle download on Amazon. There are over 100 paranormal photographs in the book that I and other people, including my husband, Greg and my brother, Nick have taken. One of those photographs is the famous June Tolliver House ghost photo.

Paranormal Photos, One Real and One Not Real!

Welcome!

I take a lot of pictures because I love photography, and because I also sell downloads of my photos on iStock which is a part of Getty Images.

When I take pictures, 95% of the time, I don't even think about, or try to take paranormal photos. Fairly often, however, I do get strange images in my photos which I can't always explain.

One day, a few years ago, I noticed that I had so many paranormal photographs that I decided to write a book about them. The book I wrote is entitled "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind" which is now available either in paperback or as a kindle download on Amazon. There are over 100 paranormal photographs in the book that I and other people, including my husband and brother, have taken.

You might want to check it out:

A couple of weeks ago, my husband Greg, and I were in town, trying to find a building to meet someone we know, so we went up a street that we don't normally drive on. I looked up and saw an old white house, and I asked Greg if that was where an old doctor used to live (It was also his clinic.), and Greg said it was.

We learned during a ghost tour a few years ago that the house was very haunted. After the doctor moved out or died, the house was sold. The house has changed hands several times since no one lives there very long.

This was one of the few times that I decided to hurriedly take some pictures as we were driving along, to see if I could get anything paranormal.

Later, after we got back home, I decided to look at the photos I'd hastily taken. I examined them closely, especially around the windows, since that's where spirits show up in houses so much of the time. If the spirits were there, I couldn't see them since all but a couple of windows were covered by curtains or blinds.

Then, I noticed a weird figure of a little boy sitting on something like a stool in the front yard. It looked as though you could even see through his legs. Scary!

Anyway, a couple of days later, I got brave and decided to revisit this old house to take more pictures, to see if I could again spot the little ghost boy.

Much to my surprise, the ghost was actually a little yard statue! It had looked so real that it had fooled me, and everyone that I'd shown it to had thought it was real, too! (His legs had looked transparent because the boots he was wearing blended in with the color of the background.)

However, there are at least three real apparitions in my paranormal book including the famous June Tolliver House ghost photo which my brother, Nick, took. Apparitions are rare, but when conditions are right, they can appear. You're really lucky if you can capture them on camera.

This was just not one of those times.

However, my next photo is very real! There are no apparitions, but the photo is a real mystery!

Greg and I love going to parks, so on a rare warm winter day a few weeks ago, we decided to visit a nearby park.

This time of year, there's not really a whole lot to photograph, but as I walked by the river, I thought that I might get a good shot that I could use on iStock.

Instead, I decided that the photo was more suitable for this "Spirit Photographs" blog! Here it is-

Notice the lavender-colored ectoplasm on the trees, and even stranger is the cluster of tiny colored balls just above and to the right of the river. I have no idea what these represent, but I need to find a psychic to explain these to me. The only other time I've noticed this phenomenon was in a photo that I featured in my 11/18/17 blog post entitled, "A Haunted Fall Festival."

Life is mysterious, but I'll be right here, the third Saturday of every month, with my "Spirit Photographs" blog so we can explore and try to solve these supernatural mysteries together!

A Haunted Fall Festival!

Welcome!

On my other blog, "The Art of Positive Living," I recently wrote a post (11/5/17) entitled "Celebrating Fall, Tennessee Style." In that post, I mentioned that Greg and I went to "Pumpkinfest" in Franklin, Tennessee.

www.theartofpositiveliving.blogspot.com

Well, on today's post, I have a picture that I took during that same festival, but this photo, unlike the other photos on that "Positive Living" post, has a paranormal twist to it. We might even say that in some respects, according to this photo, this is a haunted fall festival!

Notice the light (ectoplasm) streaming down the front of this building. Also, just to the right of the streaming light, notice the orbs in front of the tree. (I tried to blot out many of the people's faces in this photo for privacy. Otherwise, all I did to this photo was to crop it some, and I added my watermark.)

Spirits seem to like gatherings of people, where there's a lot of energy, and this festival certainly had that with all that was going on there, plus there were a lot of people that attended this festival.

Besides festivals, other places that spirits like to be are parties, family gatherings, schools, and churches, especially if there is something really special going on like a wedding or a funeral. They even haunt graveyards around monuments and memorials honoring them.

Spirits also like to be around objects like memorabilia or something that was important to them while they were alive.

Our loved ones that have passed on like to be around us.

Talented psychic, Justin Chase Mullins, from the Appalachian Mountains of Southwest Virginia says, "The Afterlife is not some far away place in the sky. Rather, our loved ones are very near us. You are surrounded by other dimensions and beings."

From the evidence Greg and I get by taking our paranormal photos, I believe the above quote is very true!

In fact, I have written a book on the paranormal, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind" that is  available now in paperback or as a kindle download.

Supernatural Cats

Welcome!

Greg and I don't have to go very far to take spirit photos. In fact, we can get plenty of paranormal pictures right around and even in our own house! This blog post mostly deals with cats and the supernatural!

Since "a picture is worth a thousand words," here are two photos that say it all!-

This is the back of our house. I was taking a picture of it to compare its size to the size of Greg's elephant ears plant, but I didn't know there would be ectoplasm in the windows! In fact, there is an image of a ghostly cat's head in the window on the upper right of our house where our cats' room is located!

Speaking of cats, here's a picture of our Kallie, surrounded by orbs!

This is the photo I took of Kallie which I briefly mentioned in my last "Spirit Photographs" blog post (9/16/17). Here, our cat is looking at our neighbor's cat which is outside, and if they ever got together, the fur would fly! With all of that energy, no wonder there are so many orbs! It could even be that the spirits in our house have gathered to watch the furry confrontation.

In my book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind," there are over 100 of Greg's and my paranormal photographs which gifted Tennessee psychic Elaine Watson (now deceased) so expertly interpreted. Our kitties, Kallie and Mitzi, are featured in several of those photos.

"Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind" is available now, either in paperback or as a kindle download.

Be sure to get in on the Halloween fun during the next few days.

Besides trick-or-treating, there are lots of neat things going on around the country.

-WKRN, Nashville, will present "Haunted Tennessee" this Thursday, October 26. Last year's haunted subjects are featured on WKRN's website.

-For all of us "Munsters" fans, there will be a "The Munsters" marathon on Cozi TV this Saturday, October 28.

-There's a "Creepy Hollow Haunted Woods" event in Spring Hill, Tennessee that you might want to check out since it is a well-done production that has been rated "very scary."

-Also, on October 28, there will be a paranormal Halloween investigation at Henry Horton State Park in Chapel Hill, Tennessee where you just might see a real ghost!

-Weather.com has "American Super/Natural" videos from 2014 which are weather-related true tales of the supernatural. These are well-done, quite good, and creepy!

Happy Halloween!

Paranormal Phenomena Revealed

Welcome!

On this blog post, I'm featuring my husband, Greg, who recently revealed to me several interesting paranormal incidents or phenomena that he had experienced.

A few days ago, I mentioned to Greg that I didn't really have any significant paranormal experiences or photos to share on my "Spirit Photographs" blog this month, and I casually asked him if he had seen or heard anything strange lately, either at home or at work. I was amazed when he told me of three incidents that had happened as long as a year ago that he hadn't before shared with me.

He said that the most recent paranormal event happened at work. (Greg, as well as others, have seen and heard strange things there before, since that place is apparently very haunted due to the fact that it was the site of a horrific battle during the Civil War.) Greg said that a chain that goes across a handrail started shaking on its own. He had never noticed the chain shaking before. However, the rope across from it wasn't shaking at all! (This reminds me of the plant that shook by itself in my last 8/19/17 "Spirit Photographs" blog post, "Haunted Caretaker's House, and More!".)

Another strange incident that Greg revealed happened around a year ago. One day he was in the hallway of our house. As he walked past our front door which happened to be open, the storm door handle suddenly started moving up and down by itself for several seconds!

Finally, the last paranormal event is apparently ongoing. Greg said that several times he noticed something like ectoplasm floating around our living room lampshade! This phenomenon occurs late at night while most of the lights are off. This is unusual for us since the only ectoplasm we have ever seen in the past is in our photos, not with our naked eyes.

I started wondering what was going on with the lampshade, and then I happened to remember what a psychic medium that I had contacted after my mother passed away had said. She told me that my mother's spirit likes one of our lamps. At the time of the reading, I had thought that it was probably the pink antique lamp which we have upstairs that she liked, but now I know it is this one with the ectoplasm which used to belong to my mother.

I have yet to see the floating ectoplasm although I looked a couple of times. I'll let you know in a future blog post if and when I eventually see it myself.

Lamp As It Normally Looks

Here, above, Greg is beside the same lamp which has what appears to be ectoplasm. However, we are unable to get a picture of the floating ectoplasm around the lampshade since it's almost in total darkness when it occurs.

Greg hadn't told me about the above paranormal incidents sooner because either he'd just forgotten about them, and/or he'd thought that maybe his eyes were playing tricks on him.

Greg seems to be very psychic. He has seen at least one ghost which I mention in my paranormal book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind," available now, either in paperback or as a kindle download on Amazon.

Paranormal incidents are very unpredictable! Case in point: While I was taking a break from writing this blog post, I noticed that our neighbor's cat was looking in the window from outside at our cats that were inside. I thought it would be cute to take a picture of these cats looking at each other. With the photo I took, I got much more than I bargained for! I'll share it on my next month's "Spirit Photographs" blog post! Please stay tuned!

Haunted Caretaker's House, and More!

Welcome!

This month, I have a couple of really creepy happenings to share with you. I'm usually not affected by the paranormal things I come across, but for some reason I feel really uneasy about what I'm about to tell you-

Fist of all, a few weeks ago, Greg and I visited an absolutely breathtaking state park here in Tennessee on a beautiful day. This was a place we had never before visited, and we enjoyed exploring around.

It wasn't long until we came upon an old house in which a caretaker of the park had once lived, but it was now vacant since the caretaker had died. I told Greg that if I were the deceased caretaker, I would want to still live here, that I'd haunt this place. It suddenly occurred to me that the place probably was haunted!

Greg suggested we take pictures. Why not, since that's what we so often do, especially since it looked like the perfect place for a haunting!

I took out my camera which I always carry with me when I go out, and started taking several pictures.

Here's one of the typical photos that I took-

It looks like ectoplasm in the trees above the old house.

Also, I half-jokingly asked any spirits there to start rocking in one of the rocking chairs on the porch, when suddenly one of the plants in the foreground started shaking on its own like the wind was blowing it even though there was no wind, and none of the other plants near it moved. I figured that moving a plant was easier for a spirit to do than moving a rocking chair! Apparently, the spirit wanted us to know that it was there.

Then, Greg asked to borrow my camera (He hadn't brought his.) since he wanted to see if he could catch anything paranormal.

Here's what he got-

While he was taking pictures, the camera started malfunctioning, and the photos turned out to be blurred. It took him a while to get the camera functioning normally again! I thought maybe the battery had gotten low, but later we were able to take more photos just fine.

Our conclusion is that this area is most certainly haunted! Let's put it this way, I sure wouldn't want to be there after dark!

Another photo in the realm of the supernatural is from my brother, Nick, of his wife, Lisa, and their cat, Whiskers.

Here is part of the email Nick sent to me, explaining the above photo-

"I'm attaching a pic showing Whiskers going berserk near the computer: Lisa was looking at your paranormal blog and he started jumping around, trying to get to the screen. He has never acted like that before! It's like he sensed something weird going on with what she was reading! Strange!"

(Guess you already knew that animals are very psychic!)

This is strange! Thank you all for sharing!

The blog post Lisa was reading was my April 15, 2017 "Spirit Photographs" post, "An Enlightening Psychic Reading."

Paranormal Activity

Welcome!

The third Saturday of every month, I write about paranormal activity on this "Spirit Photographs" blog. Thankfully, I don't have to wring my hands and rack my brain trying to figure out what to write about since there always seems to be plenty of paranormal activity going on around Greg and me to discuss!

This blog post is no exception...

First of all, Greg and I really enjoy going to various parks in the summer. Just a few weeks ago, we went to Chickasaw Trace Park which is close to where we live. We took several photos as we usually do whenever we go somewhere.

No matter where I took pictures in the park, ectoplasm kept showing up in my photos. This same phenomenon occurred once before when we took pictures there.

                                                     Haunted? Chickasaw Trace Park

What is the cause of the ectoplasm in the photos in this park? Is it because of the Native Americans who passed on, or is it the spirits of animals, fish, and birds? Does the sheer beauty of this place cause many spirits to be attracted to it?

Greg and I have the ability to take paranormal photos, but we don't have the ability to interpret them. I discuss this in my book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind" which has around 100 paranormal photos mostly taken by Greg and me. (It's available on both "Amazon" and "FastPencil.")

Also, there are a couple of other strange things that have occurred the past few weeks-

Greg was by himself at work one evening, and while he was in the break room, he suddenly heard an unusual loud noise. It sounded as if someone had thrown a large rubber mat on the floor right behind him. He looked around the whole area to see what might have caused the noise, and no one was there, and nothing had moved as far as he could tell! He wasn't very surprised as he and other people have seen and heard weird things there at work several times before.

Greg has a good idea on why the place where he works might be haunted. The building there is on the  battlefield of one of the bloodiest battles of the Civil War!

A few days ago, it was my mother's birthday. Although she passed on two years ago, I took time to speak to her spirit, to wish her a happy birthday and to send her our love.

I didn't think any more about it, and I started doing some chores. I was heating up some food in the oven, and I set the timer for six minutes. I started working on something else, and in a few minutes, I wondered why the timer hadn't gone off. I looked at the timer to see what was going on, and it was on 0709, my mother's birth date! I guess that was her way of saying she had heard me, and that she appreciated our birthday wishes. It made me feel happy and reassured.

All paranormal activity need not be scary because it's actually normal occurrences that we just don't fully understand. It's a mystery yet to be solved. That's why the paranormal is so totally intriguing!

An Enlightening Psychic Reading

Welcome!

On my last two "Spirit Photographs" blog posts, I mentioned that I was trying to get in touch with a psychic for a reading, and a few days ago, I did just that, finally!

The psychic that did my phone reading is very talented. Not only is she clairvoyant (seeing), clairaudient (hearing), and clairsentient ((feeling), but she is also a psychic medium, as well.

I was really pleased with how well the reading went. I had several questions for her since I don't contact psychics as much as I used to.

One of the first questions I asked her was what our two cats, Kallie and Mitzi, see when they seem to be staring into space, looking at something I can't see. Her answer was, not surprisingly, spirits.

One really eerie thing that has been happening recently with our cats is that at bedtime, Greg and I notice that Mitzi has been hanging out on our third floor (which we mostly use for storage) near a photo collage I made in memory of my mother for her funeral which features pictures of her and several of her family members and friends.

Mitzi, Lying in Front of Collage

Also, Mitzi sometimes lies in front of a large painting my father did of Mama many years ago that we have standing up on the floor near the collage. Mitzi is a very social cat that loves being around people, and now apparently spirits, since the psychic said that some of the spirits featured in the collage like to be near the collage and the painting!

A few nights ago, I was looking for Kallie, and I saw her lying in front of the painting of Mama, as well! Kallie copies Mitzi a lot, and I guess she didn't want to be outdone by her!

Also, the psychic answered a couple of  questions I had about Greg-

I mentioned to her about Greg seeing a UFO a few weeks ago (Please see my 3/25/17 blog post for more details.), and she said that it definitely was a space-alien craft, but it was a friendly visit, and that it was an honor that Greg got to see it!

Another really weird thing that happened a few weeks ago was that Greg was in his car, and as he was making a turn to the left, he noticed a girl walking beside the road who was wearing tights and a shirt, and she was carrying a cell phone. After he made the turn, he said that he looked in the rear view mirror, and she wasn't there where she should have been!

I asked the psychic about the incident, and she said that it was a spirit, and that the veil between our world and the spirit world was growing thinner. She said that Greg is pretty psychic, and that we can all see more if we're open to it. Be grateful for seeing more.

The reading was excellent, and Greg and I learned a lot from it.

I just wanted to share with you some good news about my book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind." A woman from a publishing company emailed me and said that my book was one of only ten books in my genre that was selected by their literary book scouts to be included in a large upcoming book fair here in the United States because it was of such "good quality." She said my book was very relevant for today. I may decide not to do it, but I feel it was such an honor just to be asked.

Happy Easter!

Strange (Paranormal?) Things in the Sky!

Welcome!

Last week, I mentioned that I was going to share with you the results of a psychic reading, but I still haven't gotten to do that yet. However, I feel sure that I'll get to share that with you for our next regularly scheduled "Spirit Photographs" blog post on Saturday, April 15.

In the meantime, never fear, I still have something else paranormal to tell you about that happened several days ago.

One morning, I looked out the kitchen window and noticed several jet trails crossing over each other. I told Greg, and he grabbed his camera and took the photo below.

This is weird because normally contrails don't hang in the air that long, nor do several cross over each other in that manner.

Even stranger is that when Greg got to work later that day, he said that he saw a lot more of these contrails in the formation of a grid!

But wait, even more weird was the fact that when Greg got to work the very next day, he looked out the window and saw something else strange in the sky. He grabbed some nearby binoculars, and he and a coworker ran out to see what it was.

Greg said that there was an object up high in the sky which was the size of somewhere between that of a hang glider and a small plane. It was shaped like a peanut, and it was white and sparkled in the sun. Suddenly, it started twisting and turning, and then it changed into a triangular shape, and finally disappeared.

Greg and his coworker didn't know what to think about this strange phenomenon. They were stunned. The coworker said that he'd never before believed in UFO's, but he might just change his opinion after seeing that!

Please stay turned for more of the unexplained!

The Latest on the Paranormal, Including Photos

Welcome!

I have several things I'd like to share with you on this post.

First of all, I have a fake paranormal photo I'd like to share with you. I had thought it was real at first, until I investigated it a little further.

Greg and I had just gotten back from a trip on a rainy night. When Greg got out of the car, he said that there was an armadillo near our backyard fence. I got all excited about it since I'd never seen one, so, of course, I pulled out my camera to get a picture of the little guy. The following photo is what I got-

I never did see the armadillo in the picture; guess he was too fast for me!, but I did get these weird lights that looked like streaks of ectoplasm. I was sure I'd gotten something unusual until I analyzed the photo. In my haste to capture my subject, I had jerked the camera, and the streaks of light were just street and house lights in the background.

However, most of the time, the paranormal photos that Greg and I take are a hundred percent real!

For example, here is a paranormal photo I took a few weeks ago of Greg standing in front of "Homestead Manor" in Thompson Station, Tennessee-

Notice the fuzzy ectoplasm at the top of the photo.

I obviously took this picture in the daytime, using no flash. This haunted mansion is an easy target since it is so haunted! I wrote about it on my "Spirit Photographs" blog last year. It's the 7/2/16 post entitled "Haunted Homestead Manor."

Our sister-in-law Cris wants us to go visit Tombstone, Arizona which is one of her favorite places since it is apparently so full of ghosts. (She's really into the paranormal just like Greg and I are.) We're seriously considering it! Should be really interesting !

Also, Greg and I are looking forward to the season premiere of "Finding Bigfoot" on "Animal Planet" starting tomorrow night (1/08/17) at 9:00 PM EST. It's supposed to be in North Carolina near the Appalachian Trail. Fans of the show will get a real treat tomorrow since it will be on all day starting in the morning! Enjoy!

Important notice: I want you to know that starting this month, the "Spirit Photographs" blog post will be the third Saturday of each month instead of the first Saturday.

(My other blog, "The Art of Positive Living" will be the first Sunday of each month only, starting February 5. However, my already scheduled Sunday, January 15 post will be posted as planned.)

Thanks for visiting! Until Saturday, January 21, 2017. Becky

Haunted Columbia, Tennessee

Greg and I don't have to go very far to find a haunted town, because we live in one, Columbia, Tennessee!

Columbia is an old historic town where James K. Polk, the 11th president of the United States, lived for a time.

When we first moved here, we took an interesting "Columbia Ghost Tour," and found out just how haunted Columbia really was, with many stories of strange things that happened to regular folks just like you and me.

For more info about the haunted tour, go to:

www.facebook.com/ColumbiaGhostTour

And, also, see my previous 8/24/12 "Spirit Photographs" blog post about the Columbia Ghost Tour when we went on it.

Last month, we went to the annual Mule Day parade in Columbia, and were just trying to get some good pictures of the parade, when we got an unexpected bonus in several of our photos, ectoplasm, in the daylight, without any camera flash!

Check out the photos below that Greg and I took-

This photo is one of several that Greg took that had ectoplasm. Notice the lower part of the building behind the girl on the right.

After the parade, we went to a restaurant for lunch, and every picture I took of it was "fogged' over with ectoplasm!

This place must really be haunted! Compare the clarity of Greg's photo to the one I took of the restaurant to see how fuzzy my photo really is.

This restaurant is relatively new, so I don't think it was in existence when we went on the ghost tour. If it isn't mentioned on the tour now, it probably should be!

Come and check out haunted Columbia, Tennessee for yourself sometime. Bet you'll be glad you did if you like the paranormal!

Thanks for visiting! Until the first weekend in June, Becky...

More Ghostly Goings-on at a Haunted B & B

Welcome!

From now on, "Spirit Photographs" blog posts will be published late morning on Mondays. After today, the posts will be published on the first Monday of each month.

On the 1/4/14 "Spirit Photographs" blog post, "A Haunted B & B?", I told about Greg and me spending the night in a B & B in East Tennessee that was apparently haunted, and I show pictures to prove it!

We've been back there several times since I wrote that post, and nothing else weird has happened, until recently!

In this East Tennessee B & B, where Greg and I were again spending the night, I was awakened by some sort of strange noise in our room. Later, I was again awakened by a rattling sound, like paper was being rattled, twice! It wasn't Greg, because I looked over, and Greg was beside me, sound asleep! The next morning, before we got up, I told Greg about the noises I'd heard, and he told me that he'd also heard some sort of unusual noise before he'd fallen asleep.

We we got up, I found my papers, cloth jewelry holder, and a few pieces of my jewelry which had been on a table at the foot of our bed, turned upside down in a neat stack on the floor. Neither Greg nor I went near this table during the night, so we know that we didn't touch these items.

This is what I found lying on the floor in a neat stack, upside down.

What caused this strange phenomenon? We're not sure, but we're seriously thinking about spending the night somewhere else whenever we visit that area of East Tennessee again so that we can get a good night's sleep!

My brother, Nick, recently told me about a really good paranormal show that was on "Destination America," "Paranormal Lockdown," which stars Nick Groff who used to be on "Ghost Adventures." Presently, it's on Fridays 10/9C. "Destination America" also features a couple of other paranormal shows, "Mountain Monsters" and "A Haunting." For more information and video clips from these shows, visit  www.destinationamerica.com  .

On the "Weather Channel," Jim Cantore has an interesting show, "Cantore Stories," which features various weather-related stories. Just recently, the show had a paranormal slant, and it featured the skunk ape which is in the Florida Everglades, and The Marfa (ghost) lights in Marfa, Texas. (The Marfa lights is listed as the number one place to visit in Marfa, according to "TripAdvisor."  It even got their "Certificate of Excellence"!)

Also, similar to the Marfa lights, Greg reminded me about the Brown Mountain lights which can be seen near Brown Mountain in western North Carolina.

This is fascinating stuff that you might want to check out for yourself on the Internet if you enjoy the paranormal as much as I do!

Personal Paranormal News

Welcome!

In this monthly blog post, I want to give you my personal paranormal news on what has been going on in my life these past few weeks.

As far as taking any photographs of spirits, there have been none, probably because I take most of my pictures using existing light for my photography business, and to get good spirit photos, you most often need to use a flash. I'm sure this is just a lull, and I'll get more spirit photos in the future. I can always just use my flash a little more often.

All has been quiet in our house, which is nice for a change, because it's a little unnerving to try to go to sleep at night when strange noises are coming from your chest of drawers!

I recently contacted a neighbor who had a household disaster a few weeks ago, and I asked her how things were going, and offered to help, and told her I hoped the disaster wasn't because of us. She laughed and graciously said it was not us. I felt relieved when she said that.

The reason I asked her that question was because a couple of years ago, we found out that she was very psychic, and we asked her to come to our house to check out any entities that we thought might be here. She toured our house not long after we moved in, and she said that several spirits were in our home.

Our House, Right After We Bought It

Several months later, she told us that after she'd been to our house, that a couple of spirits had attached themselves to her, and that she had a hard time getting rid of them. She hasn't been near our house since then. We can totally understand why! (I was afraid when I recently called her that spirits from our our house might have caused their disaster. Thankfully, that was not the case!)

Greg and I are looking forward to a visit from another psychic in the spring. This is a psychic that I've talked to several times on the phone, to have psychic readings, but I've never met her in person before.

A few days ago, she called me out of the blue, and said she'd be visiting a relative in our area in the spring (The psychic lives several hundred miles away, in another state.), and would love to meet Greg and me. I was thrilled, because I've long admired her psychic abilities, and besides that, she seems like a really nice person.

She was with one of the top psychic hotlines in the world until recently. She is very talented; she is clairvoyant, clairaudient, and clairsentient. Besides that, she's a gifted medium. (Wow! That is very impressive! You can't be any more psychic than that!) She was especially helpful to me when my mother passed away a few months ago.

When she comes to visit, we're going to her relative's popular restaurant, and she's also coming by our house to do a reading. We're really looking forward to this! This sounds like it would make a great blog post, for both of my blogs,"Spirit Photographs" and "The Art of Positive Living!"

Speaking of mediums, there's a really neat reality show on TLC Sunday nights, 9/8C, "Long Island Medium," starring medium Theresa Caputro who brings humor to a serious subject. Check it out, if you haven't already!

I'm a little upset that one of my favorite TV shows of all time, "Finding Bigfoot" won't be on this week due to a special program, but hopefully it will return next Sunday night on "Animal Planet." Of course, I can always catch videos of the show on the "Animal Planet" website.

Important note: "Spirit Photographs" blog posts will be published on Mondays (late morning) from now on, starting on Monday, March 21, 2016. Thereafter, the posts will be published on the first Monday of each month.

Thanks for visiting! Until Monday, March 21, 2016, Becky
