"An Old Haunted House!"

 Welcome!

I honestly didn't think I had any paranormal photographs to share with you for this month on this blog until I found a photograph in my paranormal picture folder that I had never before used.

And here it is-

This is not a very good photograph. That is probably why I never used it. I barely remember taking it, but I can understand why I kept it-because it is paranormal.

Here's the background for this photograph-

I always carry my small camera in my pocketbook, so when we are out, and I see something interesting, I can take a picture. I don't know exactly why I took the picture to begin with, except that I really like old houses. We are usually in a hurry when we go out, so I apparently took the picture from the car window while Greg was driving slowly. Neither Greg nor I can remember much about it, and we have no idea where this house is located.

However, I am glad I took the picture, even though it is not good photographically. You can't tell much about it in the above photograph, so in order to show the paranormal part, I had to edit it which is something I really don't like to do when it comes to paranormal photos.

Here it is after I cropped it and lightened it quiet a bit so that the ectoplasm would show up better-

There's lots of ectoplasm on the house-on the roof, the chimney, near the flag, on the front and side of the house, and there is even ectoplasm almost surrounding the nearby tree.

It reminds me so much of our house in Kingsport, Tennessee where we used to live, not the way it looks, but the fact that this house is apparently very haunted, just like ours was. I tell about it in my paranormal book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind," which is on Amazon Kindle. So many old houses are haunted.

I'm happy that I decided to use this picture, now, so that I could share it with you.

Happy Halloween!

The Halloween picture above looks paranormal, but it's not. I took this picture quickly while we were in our car, through our dirty windshield, which gives it a paranormal look.

A White Orb

A House Creatively Decorated for Halloween

I was a little concerned about what to write about today, but I wasn't concerned for very long! All I had to do was to look at the photographs I'd taken the past few weeks, and then I happened to see a couple of pictures that I thought you might find interesting. (Greg and I take so many paranormal photographs that they actually seem commonplace to us. Sometimes we even forget about some that we have just recently taken.)

Here they are, two photos of the same stove from two different angles-

Cast Iron Wood-Burning Stove

Notice anything strange? Compare the small white circle on the stove in each photo. Notice how it's not in the same place in the two photos. The reason for that is that it's a white orb that moved.

Orbs can be different colors, and those colors are meaningful. White is associated with spirituality. It can even mean that the spirit of a loved one is with you.

A couple of weeks ago, we sold that stove since we didn't need it. The white orb may or may not have gone with the buyer. If it did, I guess the buyer unknowingly got a little extra bonus, a real bargain!

To see a lot more (over 100!) spirit photographs that Greg and I have taken, just check out my Kindle book on Amazon, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind" by Becky Arnott. For more information, and to order, please click the widget above.

Hope you get lots of treats for Halloween!

Would You Buy a Haunted House?

 Welcome!

I've recently been going through my many photographs, and I found three that I decided to put on this blog post.

A few years ago, Greg and I were looking for a house to buy in Middle Tennessee. We looked at several before we found one that we really loved.

The following photos are of a house that we almost bought-

In the above photo is the den of the house. It looks perfectly normal except for the moonlike orb on the wall!

That isn't all!

Look at the mirror in the children's room with its orbs and lines!

I loved this bathroom. I thought it was so pretty! But, notice the white lines in this mirror! These are not found in a normal mirror!

Of course, just looking at the above rooms with the necked eye, most people, unless they are psychic, don't, as a rule, see orbs floating about, nor do they see lines in mirrors.

I don't see these things until they show up in the photographs I take. That is the same for my husband, Greg and my brother, Nick. We are all psychically gifted in that strange things often show up in the photographs we take.

I tell about our adventures in psychic photography in my book which is on Amazon. It's called, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind." Please see the widget above for more details.

As far as the house in the above photos goes, we loved parts of the house, the bathroom, the screened-in porch, and the beautiful kitchen. However, there were parts of the house we didn't really like. Besides, the paranormal stuff going on in there was not something we wanted to deal with at that time.

Here is more strange house stuff: The house we finally decided to buy in Tennessee was directly behind the house we almost bought, and the kitchen we loved finally came to us in the house in Virginia where we now live! The two kitchens could be twins! Truth is sometimes stranger than fiction!

Although the house we live in now is somewhat haunted, it's okay with us because it's our dream home. It's a semi-fixer-upper, and we've put a lot of ourselves into it, making it into the perfect house for us. So far, so good! Some unusual things have been happening the last few weeks in our house and cabin which I'll mention next month unless something else comes up! You just never know about the paranormal! It's just so darn  unpredictable!

Question: Would you buy and live in a haunted house?

Happy Halloween!

Eerie Apparition in England!

Welcome!

Have I got an eerie photo to show you!

A few weeks ago, my brother, Nick, and his wife and son went on a trip to England. Nick always sends us any unusual photos that he takes while traveling.

Well, the following photographs are certainly unusual, to say the least!-

This is a photograph of Salisbury Cathedral in England at night. If that's not creepy enough, look at the close-up in the next photo!

What is this?!!!

Here's how Nick's and my emails went, back and forth, about this strange photo-

Nick-"I was going over some of the England pics last night and came across this eerie figure in a nighttime photo at Salisbury Cathedral. I remember that no one else was on the cathedral grounds as it was about 10 pm. I've included the original and a close-up. I didn't notice anything unusual when I took the pic and hadn't seen the figure until now.
Let me know what you think!"

Becky-"Wow! Scary, creepy! Greg and I were amazed by this photo! To us, it looks like a woman in a period dress, riding some kind of animal like a horse. Their faces are almost scull-like. I believe this is an apparition because what else could it be? If you remember in my book ("Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind" on Amazon) on page 72, there was an apparition inside SALISBURY CATHEDRAL! That place must really be haunted! You were lucky to have captured this as apparitions on camera, of course, as you know, are rare. Good job!"

In another related email, Nick went on to say, "I wish we'd had more time around the cathedral that night but we were all tired. Understandably, that area had a very real feeling of eeriness and foreboding. I was hoping to find something of interest in the several pics I took and (was) really surprised when I later noticed the figure. Many times these types of images just sort of look like a certain form or shape by being "matrixed" by your brain into something which really isn't there. But, this object does look real, whatever it is...."

Thanks, Nick, for sharing!

Nick, as well as Greg and I, all have the gift of taking spirit photographs. I chronicle all of this in my book.

Nick is the one who took the famous June Tolliver House ghost photo. That photo is in a chapter of my book. To order the book, just click the link above.

Next week, Greg and I will be going to see the Barter Theatre (in Abingdon, Virginia) production of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" which is one of my favorite stories of all time.

Halloween Blog Post

Welcome!

I have a very special Halloween blog post for you since Greg and I got to visit a very special place in St. Francisville, Louisiana, The Myrtles Plantation!

Here it is!-

Although it's a very attractive place, The Myrtles has a dark secret, it's "one of America's most haunted homes"!

Greg and I became aware of The Myrtles from various television shows like "Ghost Hunters."

We enjoyed an interesting, informative tour of the historic antebellum house.

We were pleased that we got to take pictures (without a flash, except for one mirror) since that's what we love to do. (Some historic homes don't allow any pictures to be taken.)

Greg and I took several pictures of the house, but we found that the room above was the most haunted. Notice the red color emanating from the light above this portrait. There is also ectoplasm to the right of the closer vase, at the bottom of the portrait (two places), and on the the wall to the left of the mantle, there is a white orb (unless, instead, it's actually something mundane like a light switch!)

Here's another room in this lovely home, but we didn't catch anything on camera in this room. Instead, when you look into the green room to the left, there is something strange there.

Here's a close-up of that room-

Notice the white orb! Guess what? This is the very same room that has the ectoplasm near the portrait above (two pictures back). This is also the room with a creepy little girl portrait that was finished from a "sitting" after she died!

You never can predict what will happen when you take paranormal pictures.

Some days, some places, you'll easily get lots of great paranormal photos. Other times. the orbs, ectoplasm, and apparitions are few and far between even in the most haunted of houses.

There are different reasons why your paranormal photographs turn out to be good or not so good:

-The weather-for instance, stormy weather seems to attract more spirits, etc,
-You need to use a flash when photographing old mirrors. Otherwise, most of the time, nothing significant will show up.
-The photographer needs to be in a good frame of mind.
-Sometimes, spirits hide, which makes capturing them on camera impossible.
-Usually, taking plenty of pictures insures success in getting paranormal photos.
-Sometimes you get paranormal photos when you're least thinking about them. It's best not to try too hard.

For example, I was just taking a picture of this lovely country road in Mississippi when the large moving orb was picked up on camera. Wow! Love it!

Now, you might want to try your own paranormal photography skills which can be quite an adventure!

There's plenty to do the next couple of weeks Halloween-wise-visiting haunted houses, forests, etc. (fake and real), trick-or-treating, attending Halloween parties, or even hosting a party of your own!

You might want to head to The Myrtles Plantation in the deep South where you possibly could see or hear something supernatural like some of  the workers and some of the visitors have. If you're brave enough, you could even spend the night there! Find out about the legend of Chloe, and get a paranormal Chloe postcard like Greg and I did! Great inexpensive souvenir!

Anyway, whatever you choose to do this Halloween, be safe and have fun!

Supernatural Cats

Welcome!

Greg and I don't have to go very far to take spirit photos. In fact, we can get plenty of paranormal pictures right around and even in our own house! This blog post mostly deals with cats and the supernatural!

Since "a picture is worth a thousand words," here are two photos that say it all!-

This is the back of our house. I was taking a picture of it to compare its size to the size of Greg's elephant ears plant, but I didn't know there would be ectoplasm in the windows! In fact, there is an image of a ghostly cat's head in the window on the upper right of our house where our cats' room is located!

Speaking of cats, here's a picture of our Kallie, surrounded by orbs!

This is the photo I took of Kallie which I briefly mentioned in my last "Spirit Photographs" blog post (9/16/17). Here, our cat is looking at our neighbor's cat which is outside, and if they ever got together, the fur would fly! With all of that energy, no wonder there are so many orbs! It could even be that the spirits in our house have gathered to watch the furry confrontation.

In my book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind," there are over 100 of Greg's and my paranormal photographs which gifted Tennessee psychic Elaine Watson (now deceased) so expertly interpreted. Our kitties, Kallie and Mitzi, are featured in several of those photos.

"Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind" is available now, either in paperback or as a kindle download.

Be sure to get in on the Halloween fun during the next few days.

Besides trick-or-treating, there are lots of neat things going on around the country.

-WKRN, Nashville, will present "Haunted Tennessee" this Thursday, October 26. Last year's haunted subjects are featured on WKRN's website.

-For all of us "Munsters" fans, there will be a "The Munsters" marathon on Cozi TV this Saturday, October 28.

-There's a "Creepy Hollow Haunted Woods" event in Spring Hill, Tennessee that you might want to check out since it is a well-done production that has been rated "very scary."

-Also, on October 28, there will be a paranormal Halloween investigation at Henry Horton State Park in Chapel Hill, Tennessee where you just might see a real ghost!

-Weather.com has "American Super/Natural" videos from 2014 which are weather-related true tales of the supernatural. These are well-done, quite good, and creepy!

Happy Halloween!

A Paranormal Adventure in New York, Including UFO's!

Welcome!

On this special pre-Halloween blog post, I'd like to feature my brother's recent paranormal adventure in New York state.

My brother is Nick Botts who is mentioned in my book "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind."  Among other things, in the book, I show Nick's now famous June Tolliver House ghost picture which he took when he was just a school boy in Big Stone Gap, Virginia.

Nick does have a gift for taking paranormal photos, just as my husband Greg and I do.

Nick also has a keen interest in the paranormal which is evidenced by the places he and his wife went on their trip to New York.  They went by the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York and the Burn Brae mansion in Glen Spey, New York which were both featured on recent episodes of Syfy's "Ghost Hunters."

Culinary Institute of America

They didn't notice anything unusual about either place.  That's the way it usually goes, you don't see or hear anything at so many of these "haunted" places you visit.  Greg and I have run into that several times.

However, when you least expect it, something really great shows up!  That's exactly what happened to Nick on this trip.

While still on the trip, he emailed me an extraordinary photo that he had taken from the walkway of the Hudson Bridge in New York.

In his email, he said, "Here's a weird pic...notice the strange objects in formation in the sky.  I did see something right when I snapped but (they) were gone in an instant."

Wow!  This picture is amazing!  It was a really lucky shot.  You can see, especially when you study the objects more closely, that they are flying saucers, just like in the old classic flying saucer movies.

Capturing UFO's on camera is probably even rarer than capturing an apparition.

Good job, Nick!  Thanks for sharing!

Mystery (Paranormal?) Photo

Welcome!

My husband, Greg, and I attended a funeral yesterday at a rural church in Northeast Tennessee, and only an hour later, we visited the downtown area of Rogersville, Tennessee where we took some pictures of this quaint little town.

I noticed after Greg had taken this one of me in the courthouse square, I thought it looked like ectoplasm in the background, but Greg thought it was merely a ray of sunlight with lens flare.  What do you think?  (I'm presently looking for a good psychic to view and interpret our recent photographs that we think might be paranormal, for my next paranormal book.)

Here's the mystery photo:

Please email me and let me know what you think:  (spiritphotographs@gmail.com

Also, I'd just like to wish everyone a safe, happy Halloween!  Hope the weather is nice tonight where you are for all the trick-or-treaters and other Halloween celebrants.

If the weather is crummy, you might just want to stay home and watch "Travel Channel's" "Ghost Adventures" where the guys will feature Ireland and Mexico.  Enjoy!
