Strange and Unexplained!

 Welcome!

On this post, I want to tell you about all of the strange and unexplained things that Greg and I have been experiencing during the past couple of weeks-

We have had things not working-our car, two different parts of our computer, my label maker, and our washing machine, but miraculously, they all started working again!

Another strange thing that happened recently was that I was shopping at our local pet store for cat food, when another woman was there as well, looking for the very same brand of cat food that I was. I wanted to get new two new flavors of the food that I had seen online for our cats to try, and the nice woman helped me look for them, and together, we found them. Normally, both she and I buy our cat food from the same online company.

I asked her what her name was, and she said that it was Becky, which is my name. She was also born the same month I was, and she lived in an old, over-one hundred-year-old house, and you might have guessed it, Greg and I also live in an old, over-one hundred-year-old house!

She told me that her husband had died five years ago, and that she had a sick friend who was in the hospital, and that she was worried about her, so I told her that I would pray for her friend. She thanked me for that, and I thanked her for helping me find the cat food.

I told Greg about my meeting the woman, and he thought it was strange also.

Then, as if this weren't enough, a couple of weeks ago, I was upstairs, walking through our art room, when I noticed that two of my photo collages were lying face down on top of some arty calendars that I had on display there.

Calendars on display with two photo collages.
(This is how they normally look. They have been like this for the past three years, except that every January I put a new calendar on the far wall.)

I wondered how the collages ended up like that. We have two indoor cats, but how a cat could knock them both down without messing up the calendars that are loosely lying there is beyond my understanding. I simply picked up the collages, and put them back where they belonged.

I got busy with other things, and completely forgot to mention the incident to Greg, when a few days later, Greg told me that he had heard a noise in the art room when he was in the bedroom changing clothes, and that he went to investigate. He then described the very same thing that had happened to me-the collages had fallen over without disturbing the calendars! He couldn't explain this unusual phenomenon either.

Mysterious things do sometimes happen, and I try to make sense of them.

As for the incidents Greg and I have recently experienced, I would interpret them like this-

~ As for the things that tore up and fixed themselves, I would say that it 's God's way of saying that no matter how bad things appear to be, that He is in control, and can fix all things, that we just have to be positive and believe.
~ I think that I was meant to meet the sweet lady in the pet store for a couple of reasons. It was to remind us all that we need to help and support each other, especially during this time of the year, and that kindness matters.
~ Regarding the calendar incident, it could be that some of my artistic family members who have passed on are trying to encourage us to work on our art as well as other things since the collages were photographs of them and us and our artwork.

I haven't consulted my psychic in several months, but I plan to do so soon to see if my interpretations of the strange things that have been happening are correct. I also have some other things that I need to discuss with her. Please stay tuned for more....

If you need a last minute (and inexpensive!) gift for someone or even for yourself, I'd like to recommend my Kindle book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind," which is on Amazon. It's full of paranormal photographs (over 100!) that my husband, brother, and I have taken  For more information, please see the widget above.

Eerie Photograph!

 Welcome!

I have a really eerie photograph to share with you in this post today!

I was wondering a few days ago what to put on today's blog post since nothing significant had shown up since my last blog post which I published last month.

Then, earlier this week, around evening, I happened to look out our back door, and to my amazement, I saw our neighbor's sheep on our property. He usually keeps them on his farm, but this time they escaped, and they seemed to enjoy eating our nice green grass.

Although it was misting rain, I grabbed my camera and ran out onto our deck to try to get some pictures of the sheep since I love taking pictures of animals.

All I did to this photo was lighten it up and clarify it a bit, and I added my watermark.

I didn't even notice the long streak of light midway in the picture until I put it on the computer. The streak seems to go from left to right, and there is more of it in front of the tree trunk. A few sheep are blurred because they are moving fast, but the streak of light doesn't seem to have anything to do with the sheep.

I believe this streak is ectoplasm. The misty rain must have made the conditions just right for a spirit or even several spirits to manifest. (This is not fog.) I guess the spirits were attracted to the sheep. These spirits could be either human spirits or even animals, maybe even other sheep who have passed on.

I have a lot more (over 100!) spirit photographs in my book on Amazon, entitled "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind" by Becky Arnott that you might enjoy. It has paranormal photographs that my husband, brother, and I took that not only have ectoplasm, but orbs, vortexes, shadow ghosts, and even see-through ghosts! Happy Thanksgiving!

Paranormal Places

Welcome!

There are several paranormal places I'd like to share with you in this blog post.

The first one features a relatively new business that is in a really old building in historic Abingdon, Virginia. Here is a picture of it that I took a couple of weeks ago-

Notice all of the ectoplasm in this photograph! It's on the upper right window, as well as on the large windows below. A large streak comes from above to the awning. I took another picture of this building, and it was very similar to this one.

This is not the only building in Abingdon that is old, for most of the buildings there are very old. It's generally the old places that tend to attract spirits, that have ghosts. (I'll show another haunted business in Abingdon at the end of  this blog post.)

My brother, Nick, and his wife, Lisa, recently traveled to two areas that apparently are paranormal, that are very haunted.

The first place they visited was Charleston, South Carolina (This is another place that has some really old buildings.) where they went on a haunted ghost tour.

Then, they spent the night at Embassy Suites in an old building which is supposed to be haunted,

especially room M113!

Nick said they "didn't hear or see anything unusual. The building was once the Citadel Military Academy back in the 1800's, so there are areas that have a creepy vibe!"

Their other trip was to Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary in Petros, Tennessee which is no longer a working prison. Instead, they now offer special tours, etc. to the public.

Since the prison is apparently haunted, it offers an overnight paranormal tour. Brushy has even been featured on some paranormal television shows.

Nick said that he and Lisa did the self-guided daytime tour of the prison where Nick had his own "EVP session with (his) phone recorder in a secluded area of the facility" where they heard "a subtle odd sound on the playback!"

Yesterday, I saw part of a "Wonder Woman" TV show for the first time, and it just happened to feature a character who could take photographs that were paranormal.

Paranormal photography is a gift that my husband, Greg, my brother, Nick, and I all have. Many of our photographs contain ectoplasm, orbs, and sometimes, when we're very lucky, a ghost!*

The Martha Washington Inn (The Martha) in Abingdon, Virginia is haunted...

Happy Halloween!

not only by fake ghosts (See the photo above.), but by real ones as well! Go see for yourself, if you dare!

* Be sure and check out my book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind" which is full of spirit photographs that Nick, Greg, and I have taken. Please see and click on the widget above for more details on Amazon.

Spirit Gardeners?

 Welcome!

I have something very unusual for you on this blog post! A relative, Lisa, just recently asked what I thought about a poinsettia that she had since she knew that Greg and I were very much into the paranormal.*

She showed me the flower while we were at her house.-

She said that this poinsettia was given to her in December of 2021 by her 102 year old great aunt. What's unusual about this flower is that it still has two leaves from the original bloom! She said that she'd never had one last that long.

Her aunt died a few months ago. Was this plant being tended to by her aunt who is now a spirit gardener?

Another strange incident involving flowers is that one day last year, Greg and I saw one beautiful flower growing by itself in our yard. It was a red petunia. He was surprised to see it since he didn't plant any like it the year before. Where had it come from? He said that his mother had loved petunias and the color red. Was this a sign from his mother that she was still around even though she had passed on a few years ago!

Just because someone has passed on doesn't mean that they cease to exist. Our loved ones continue to care about us and are watching over us even after death.

*Greg and I are connected to the paranormal since we have the gift of taking spirit photographs. Also, besides this blog, I have written a book on the paranormal, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind," which contains over 100 paranormal photographs which I, Greg, my brother (Nick), and others have taken showing ectoplasm, orbs, shadow ghosts, as well as other paranormal phenomena.

Here is a photo which I took that shows a paranormal grid...

in the mirror above. It is similar to a few of the photographs in my book. The mirror was in Greg's boyhood home which was very haunted as I describe in the book. My childhood home was very haunted, as well.

The book also has a picture of the famous June Tolliver House ghost which was taken by my brother when he was just a schoolboy.

Paranormal Bays Mountain Park!

 Welcome!

A few weeks ago, Greg and I visited Bays Mountain Park in Kingsport, which is in East Tennessee. We hadn't been there in several years so we really enjoyed our visit. The park is really beautiful, so we took a lot of pictures, but a few of the photographs showed more than just the park's natural beauty!

Here is one of them-

Greg took the photo above. See if you notice anything unusual, like something paranormal.

This close-up photo should help-

This dead-looking tree (above) appears to be glowing! Psychic Elaine Watson, who helped me interpret the many paranormal photographs in my book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind," (See the widget above.) told me that anytime you see something glowing in a photograph, you can be certain that it is paranormal. (Why is this tree glowing? If Elaine were still with us, I would ask her. Now, we'll just have to use our imaginations to come up with an answer for that one until I can ask another psychic the next time I have a reading with her. Stay tuned!)

As we were leaving the park, I looked over and saw the Appalachian GhostWalks vehicle.

I couldn't imagine why they would be at Bays Mountain Park. Later, when we got back home, I called the park, and asked them if Bays Mountain was haunted since I saw the GhostWalks vehicle there. The woman who answered said that they were there conducting a Cherokee Bigfoot adventure tour in which the participants search for Bigfoot at Bays Mountain Park. I told the woman on the phone that I thought that sounded exciting, and that I would check it out.

Several years ago, Greg and I, along with my mother and brother, all took one of the Appalachian GhostWalks tours in Jonesborough, Tennessee which we all really enjoyed. We were looking for ghosts then, of course, instead of Bigfoot.

Paranormal Orbs

Welcome!

I have a rather interesting photograph to share with you that I took just one week ago at a wedding that Greg and I attended.

Here is the photograph-

I'm showing only the close-up of the picture so I can protect the identities of those in the photo. Notice the balls of light in this photograph. These balls of light are a type of ectoplasm known as orbs which are paranormal. These orbs show up really well against this dark jacket. The orb at the top is still, but the lower one is moving, thus it's called a moving orb.

Orbs are actually ghosts or spirits.

The two men in the photograph are relatives of the groom, and I am also a relative. Tears came to my eyes when I realized that our loved ones that passed on were there at the wedding with us. That was very reassuring. Spirits love celebrations and ceremonies, especially when they were close in life to those celebrating.

I also had tears because I was so happy that I was again able to take paranormal photographs.

In my last blog post on 6/18/22, I questioned whether or not the picture I took was paranormal. I now know that the photo in my last post was real since I'm positive that the one in this post is real.

For several weeks, I've had trouble taking paranormal photos since I stopped taking the medication I was on. My body and brain had to gradually adjust to no longer having the medicine which I'd been on for some time. I have been feeling better lately, and that is a good thing in general, and certainly for  anyone hoping to take paranormal photographs.

For a lot more photographs with orbs and other genuine paranormal phenomena, just click on the widget above for my book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind" by Becky Arnott which is a Kindle book on Amazon.

My ability to take paranormal photographs is back. Fantastic!

Stay tuned! the best is yet to come!

Paranormal Photo or Not?

 Welcome!

I want to share an interesting photograph that I took recently when I was at a bridal shower. Greg and I have been analyzing it carefully, trying to decide whether or not it is a paranormal photo.

Here's the photo in question-

Unfortunately, I had to crop off part of the photograph for the privacy of the ladies that were at the shower, but enough of it shows to give you the idea of the layout of the distant view of the subject.

I always look through the photos I take to see if there's anything strange about them since often times there is, because I have a gift of taking paranormal photographs.

I zoomed in on the photo above since I noticed something unusual-

Close-up of the Area in Question

It looks as though the table near the center of the photo is glowing. Is the glow ectoplasm, or is it merely glare from the sun? Greg noticed that there is a strange trail of light that goes from the table, diagonally back to the right, and includes part of a chair, and it ends at the tree across the street. There is also light under, and on the back of, the chair in the left front of the photo.

I'd like to think that this photo shows the ectoplasm of spirits, connected to the bride and groom-to-be, that have come to enjoy the festivities of something very special. Spirits love going to celebrations.

So, is this a paranormal photo or not? What do you think?

I'll be talking with a psychic about this intriguing photograph in the near future to see what her thoughts are about it.

Stay tuned!

Haunted! Tours

If you like visiting haunted places, here are two you might really enjoy-

The first one is near where we live. It's the Octagon Mansion History Museum in Wytheville, Virginia.

However, there is more than just history at this museum. Besides the history museum tours, there are special events and paranormal investigations lead by teams. In fact, on June 11 of this year, there will be a paranormal investigation.

Apparently, the mansion is haunted by the ghost of a little girl who died there of polio in the 1950's.

A couple of weeks ago, Greg and I happened to go by there when the mansion was closed. However, we took some pictures outside, and in one of the photos, we noticed ectoplasm in front of this window-

(So many times, at haunted places, we've seen different types of ectoplasm in windows.)*

We're planning to go back there another time. That should be an interesting adventure!

FYI: The Octagon Mansion History Museum, 585 West Main Street, Wytheville, Virginia 24382 (The mansion is on Facebook.)

Just recently, my brother and his wife visited the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in Weston, West Virginia. There is a historic tour of the facility, as well as a paranormal tour. Many of the mentally ill who were housed there, also died there, so that's why it's so haunted.

Anyone who feels really brave can even spend the night in this haunted place!

My brother sent me an eerie picture that he took of the asylum- (Great photo! Thanks, Nick!)

The Gothic/Tudor style of architecture of the asylum helps make it look really spooky!

Enjoy the haunted tours!

Paranormal Photographs

 Welcome!

A few days ago, a relative (whom I'll call April) sent me two photographs of her father and her beautiful, large dog. I decided to keep April's identity secret for privacy.

Also, I'm not showing her photographs. Instead, I'll just describe them.

Her first photo shows ectoplasm in the lower right corner. In her second photo, the ectoplasm takes up quite a bit of the lower part of the photograph.

April asked me what I thought about the photos, and although I take paranormal photographs, I'm not an expert on interpreting them. My guess is that the spirit in the photo was attracted to April's impressive dog. Some spirits seem to like being around animals. (Besides animals, spirits can be attracted to some people, celebrations, churches, family gatherings, etc.)

Also, April apparently has the gift of spirit photography.

My book on paranormal photography, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind," has lots of paranormal photographs that I, my husband, Greg, and my brother, Nick, have taken. Also, some other people that I know contributed to my book, as well.

To my knowledge, I don't know of any other books that have been published that have had that many paranormal photographs in them.

Since my book was published, Greg and I have taken lots of spirit photographs. Here is one of those that Greg took of a pond at night in Middle Tennessee-

Since the above photo of the pond was taken at night, Greg turned on his car lights to take the picture. That's the reason that the foreground looks bleached out. You can see the obvious ectoplasm on the right side of the photo. The only change I made to the photo was that I added Greg's watermark, and I blotted out two small lights (which were probably street lights) on the left side of the photo. For some reason that pond seems to be very haunted, probably due to any animals and fish that might have died there. (We hope it is not due to something more sinister!) We've taken pictures there previously, before dark, and orbs, etc. showed up then, too.

In fact, we have so many paranormal photographs, that I'm planning to write and publish another book sometime in the future. (Who knows? I might even get permission to add April's spirit photos, as well!)

In the meantime, please check out my current paranormal book which is for sale on Amazon for only $2.99 on Kindle. To order "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind," just click on the widget above.

"Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind"

 Welcome!

A couple of days ago, I was in our art room, and as I glanced around the room, I decided to go over to the area where I had my first book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind," displayed.

Some Copies of My First Book on Display

I then thought that some people that are interested in the paranormal might not be aware that I have this book for sale that has over 100 genuine paranormal photographs that I, my husband, Greg, and my brother, Nick, and a few other people that we know have taken.

June Tolliver House Ghost Photo

I have a copy of the famous June Tolliver House ghost photo which hangs in our art room. It was taken by my brother, Nick, when he was just a school boy. Everyone in our family thought that it looked like there was a ghost in one of the June Tolliver House windows in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. However, just to make sure, we took it to a locally famous photographer in our area, and after he enlarged and studied it, he didn't know what to think since the ghostly image was still there. Even when it was enlarged to poster-size, the apparent ghost remained!

This was our first excursion into the world of paranormal photography. Later, we gradually discovered that I had the gift of paranormal photography, too! After I married Greg, we were amazed that many of his photos also contained supernatural images.

So, we decided that since we had so many supernatural photos that I should write a book telling about many of them. (Not all of our photos made it into the book since there were so many that they would probably fill a large dictionary-sized book, so we narrowed them down to a few of our favorites.)

And, the photos just keep coming! Some day I may write another book which includes many of the paranormal photos I've featured on this blog, plus others that we've yet to show.

Not only is each photograph explained in the book, but there are also real ghost stories told by people in our region in the book, as well. One of these stories is about a haunted car which one of my former students wrote about and shared with me.

My book features paranormal photographs from my childhood which my father took, (Guess my brother and I got our unusual talent from him!) until recent years. They were mostly taken in our Southern Appalachian Mountain region, but some were taken as far away as Europe. (Boy, is that area haunted!)

There are chapters about ectoplasm, orbs, shadow ghosts, and a few featuring rarely documented images like the ghost in the mirror at one of our holiday gatherings!

To get the Kindle version of "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind" on Amazon for just $2.99, please click the widget above.*

Enjoy!

And Happy Spring!

*The paperback version is no longer available for sale.

Haunted Cemeteries Revisited!

 Welcome!

I'm running a day late on my blog post this month since I didn't get to consult with a psychic until this afternoon. I wanted to get her idea about the glowing outlined gravestone that I photographed a few weeks ago.

Last month, I wrote on this blog about the eerie-looking photo below-

(For the full story about this photograph, please see my Sunday, January 16, 2022 blog post entitled "Weird, Scary Photo!")

Anyway, the psychic said that there were spirits in this old cemetery.* The spirits were mainly those that had loved ones buried there. The glowing grave marker in the foreground of this photo is that of a grief-struck woman that had lost someone who was very close to her. She couldn't let the grief go, so her energy got stuck there.

We went back to this cemetery in East Tennessee a few days ago, hoping to get some more paranormal photos,

but it was not to be. Greg and I were very tired after getting ready for a birthday party, then celebrating and visiting with people, which we enjoyed, but we spread ourselves too thin. In other words, we had no energy left to take pictures that were paranormal! I mentioned this to the psychic, and she said that yes, in order to do any type of intuitive work that you needed to be well-rested.

However, she marveled about Greg's and my ability to take psychic photographs, that it was something she couldn't even do. (There are, of course, different types of psychic abilities.)

Greg and I have most of the paranormal photographs that we have taken in my book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind" by Becky Arnott which is on Amazon in the Kindle format. See the widget above for more information, and how to order.

The same day that Greg and I took the glowing, grave-marker photo, we went to another old cemetery to lay flowers on the graves. It was Greg's family cemetery, the Reynold's Cemetery.

There is a large orb in the above photo which shows up better in the close-up below-

This large tombstone is that of Greg's great-grandparents. The psychic said that the orb was not from them, however, but it was from other family members who were attached to and friendly to us; they were supporting us.

It's nice and comforting to know that there are spirits around who are supportive and caring to those of us here on Earth.

Stay tuned until next month for more adventures into the unknown!

*The Bent Creek Cemetery is old. It goes back to the days of the Revolutionary War. Greg's great, great, great, great grandfather was buried there, along with several other men who fought in that war.

Weird, Scary Photo!

 Welcome!

I don't often react to any paranormal photographs that Greg or I take, but on this post, I'm going to show you a photo that is, in my opinion, very weird, even scary!

Here's some background first, before I reveal the strange photograph-

Greg, some of Greg's family members, and I recently went to four cemeteries in East Tennessee to put flowers on some family graves.

A couple of people couldn't come and take part in our cemetery excursion, including Cris. Before our trip, she emailed Greg and me and encouraged us to see if we could get pictures of any orbs. I thought that was a good suggestion, that I really hadn't even thought about taking any paranormal photographs which seems strange since I have even written a book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind," which is about the paranormal photographs that Greg, my brother, and I have taken in the past.

(My book is available on Amazon Kindle. Please click on the widget above for more information about ordering it.)

Most of the time, I don't purposely try to take any weird photos; they just happen when I least expect them to. However, mainly for Cris, Greg and I actually tried to capture some spirit images on camera, and we were successful, beyond our expectations!

We did get some ectoplasm and even orbs in a few of the photos, but one photograph was unlike anything we have ever seen! And, here it is!-

The only thing that I did to the above photo was that I added my watermark. It looks as though it's late in the day, but it was actually only about 3:00 PM! Notice the glow at the bottom of the photo.

I wanted to see the photograph better so I lightened it-

Unbelievably, it looks as thought the nearest gravestone and a few others are outlined and glowing!

Still not satisfied, I lightened the photo even further, and here's what I got-

With a mostly cloudy sky, the above photo is how the photo should have looked at 3:00 PM to begin with. Notice that the gravestones still have that glow even in the lightened version.

I emailed the photos to Cris, and she said, "Wow! those are some really weird pictures....I knew you would find something." (Thanks, Cris for your great photo suggestion!)

The photos of the glowing markers were probably dark because of the paranormal activity. Entities can mess with your camera. Another photo that I took earlier was light and very blurred.

Also, a wonderful psychic that I consulted while writing my book said that anytime you saw something glowing that was not supposed to be glowing, it was a sign that there was paranormal activity.

Greg and I are going to be really brave, because in a week or so, we're going back to this same cemetery by ourselves, to see if we can capture anything else on camera. Also, I'm going to consult a psychic to get her ideas about this strange phenomenon.

Stay tuned! More to come about this weird, scary photo next month, plus more!
