Paranormal Photograph!

 Welcome!

Of course, you may know by now that I have a gift of taking paranormal photographs, especially when I least expect it.

However, a few weeks ago, when Greg and I were visiting Jonesborough, Tennessee, I saw this beautiful old church, and I decided to take a picture of it since I had a feeling that I'd get a paranormal photograph.

I guess I was right, as you can see in this closeup-

Notice the ectoplasm and colorful orbs in this photo.

I knew that there was a good change that this church was haunted since it is located in Jonesborough which is the oldest town in Tennessee, and a few years ago, we went on a ghost tour there. We found out then that this town is really haunted!

In my book about the paranormal, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind," I have a photograph of another old church, and you can see a large flow of energy that goes from the ground toward heaven. Psychic Elaine Watson said that the spirit energy was from someone who had attended church there.

If you like paranormal photographs, you'd love my book since there are over 100 spirit photographs that my husband, Greg, and my brother, Nick, and I have taken in the past, here in this country, as well as abroad. For more information about this Kindle book which is on Amazon, just click the widget above.

And, if you are fascinated by the paranormal, you're sure to love a fascinating radio show that I listened to late one night when I was up working on a pet portrait commission. The show is "Coast to Coast AM." (www.coasttocoastam.com) The night I listened to it, it was about a ventriloquist's dummy that was haunted. (Really creepy!) They have a different focus on the strange, the unusual, every night.

On the show, they said that the paranormal is on the rise! Stay tuned!

"Haunted Places"

 Welcome!

There is always something paranormal to write about since there are so many haunted places!

In this blog post, I have three instances of paranormal occurrences.

The first one is an update about an old house and the land it sits on, in Abingdon, Virginia. I previously wrote about it in my last two "Spirit Photographs" blog posts. (Please see my Saturday, May 20 and Saturday, June 17, 2023 posts for more information about this house and land.)

Recently, I talked with a psychic about this property, and she said that the ectoplasm was there because of "Civil War stuff." (Apparently, Civil War battles were really widespread throughout this whole region. She'd told me previously that battles were fought on the land where we live.)

She said that the bright ball of ectoplasm on the ground to the right...

From a Previous Photograph

was the spirit of a Confederate soldier who was 22 years old when he was killed fighting. He was in pain before he died. He had a girlfriend, and he felt sad that he wouldn't get to have a future life.

There were dead people around him. (See the other ectoplasm to the left of the ball of ectoplasm.) So his trauma was left there, along with the trauma of the others.

In my two previous posts, there was also ectoplasm near and on the house. I assume that it was also related to the Civil War, although she didn't say so.

I have a second photograph of a hill that is behind a regional garden center. I took the picture because I thought it would make a nice photograph, but little did I know that faint ectoplasm would show up in the lower center of the photo, near the rocks.

I assume that this hill is haunted because one or more animals (or even a person) probably died there, no telling how long ago.

Lastly, I heard about an abandoned, creepy town here in the United States that is so haunted that it's illegal to even visit there! The town is Dudley Town, Connecticut. It is believed that the strange deaths and other weird happenings there were the result of the Dudley family curse.

Not only is this a place you wouldn't want to visit, you certainly wouldn't want to live there, even if you could!

Another "Haunted" Photograph and Several Paranormal Updates

 Welcome!

Last month, on May 20, 2023, I published a blog post entitled "A Haunted House" which was about an old house in Abingdon, Virginia that Greg and I concluded was haunted, and I believe my photographs prove it. I still haven't discussed the photos with a psychic, but I'm sure she'd agree that they are paranormal.

On this post, I have another photograph of that same house that further reinforces my belief that something strange is going on-

Notice the obvious ectoplasm below the sign, to the left of the sign, and on the driveway.

Hopefully, I'll be consulting a psychic soon about this house and land which are both apparently very haunted! I'll let you know when I do.

Here are some other updates on some other posts that I have written-

On April 15, 2023, I wrote a post, "Two Unusual Photographs. One Creepy, One Paranormal." I had meant to show a closeup of the young man's face, but for some reason, I didn't.

Here is the closeup of that photo. It's not very clear since it's a closeup of a closeup-

Notice the strangely-shaped configuration of energy on his face! This close-up makes the photo seem even creepier!

On November 20, 2021, I wrote a post, "Moving Orbs," about a friend that contacted me about a doorbell camera catching moving orbs in her husband's workshop. A few weeks ago, she contacted me again, and she said that there were still a lot of orbs showing up on camera, and that it caught a large orb that made the alarm go off. (I'm not really surprised!)

And, yesterday, Greg and I were visiting Big Stone Gap, Virginia, when we decided to stop by the June Tolliver House where my brother, Nick, took the famous June Tolliver House ghost photograph one April day many years ago when he was just a schoolboy.

We were looking around the Tolliver House, and in the parlor there was an old newspaper clipping from a regional newspaper on display which tells about the ghost picture that Nick took. Very appropriately, it was published right before Halloween that year.

I show and tell all about the June Tolliver House ghost picture, as well as many other paranormal photographs, in my Kindle book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind." My book is for sale on Amazon. For more information, please see the widget above.

Or, for the paperback version, just stop by the June Tolliver House gift shop in Big Stone Gap, and they'll be glad to sell you a copy. And, while you are at the Tolliver House, you might want to check out that old newspaper clipping.

Two Unusual Photographs, One Creepy, One Paranormal

 Welcome!

Last month in my 3/18/23 blog post, entitled "A Psychic Reading, and a Paranormal Update," I said that a talented psychic named Maria (not her real name) had done a reading for me about a couple of Greg's and my paranormal photographs which I wrote about in that post. I also mentioned that I had another (Really creepy!) photograph that I had asked her to interpret, but I said that I would save it for this April blog post.

I also have an additional photograph to share in this post.

So, today, I have two unusual photographs, one creepy, one paranormal.

The creepy photo is the one that my brother, Nick, sent me that someone had sent him, a picture of woman who had taken a selfie in a famous Southern hotel. When the woman looked at the picture she had taken, she had thought it was a ghost since the place is known to be haunted.

Weird Photo! (I cropped off the woman who took the selfie, for her privacy, but I left the "ghost" part of the photo.)

Nick was confounded by it, and he wanted to know what we thought of it.

Greg and I were as puzzled as Nick was, and we felt that the photo was just weird, very strange, not anything that we normally encountered, even with all of the paranormal photographs we have taken throughout the years.

So, I very briefly described the photo to the psychic (She doesn't even need to look at the pictures that she interprets.), and Maria said that the 'ghost' was a real person, not from the spirit world, and that he has a different aura since his aura has changed. He's weird and off-balance. He's thinking about death. She said that in one to three months there would be an accident.

(At least I got the "weird" part right), but it's also very sad, and strange that the woman who took the photo would capture that man in the photo at the very same time that she took the selfie!

Also, most people think that all paranormal photos are scary, but they don't have to be.

Just recently, Greg and I went out of town, and we ate at a restaurant that was new to us. On the wall there was a neat welcome sign which I got permission to photograph since I collect photos of welcome signs, some of which I put at the beginning of my "The Art of Positive Living" blog posts.

After I'd taken a picture of following unique sign, I noticed a faint orb on the right side of the photo-

I wasn't surprised to see the orb since I had thought before we left on our trip that it would be nice if some of our loved ones in the spirit world would be with us on our trip.

According to the photo above, I believe that they were!

For more paranormal photographs (over 100!) and for more information about the spirit world, please click on the widget above which will lead you to my Amazon Kindle eBook, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind."

A Psychic Reading, and a Paranormal Update

 Welcome!

Since I was a teenager, I've been interested in the paranormal. I come by it naturally since my grandmother and mother leaned in that direction. My grandmother loved to read her horoscope in the newspaper, and Mama was very open to psychic phenomena, and she was very intuitive.

Daddy took pictures that often contained ectoplasm, but he'd just say that the film messed up, not realizing that many of his photographs were actually paranormal.

My brother, Nick, and I both inherited the paranormal photography talent from Daddy. Mama didn't normally take many pictures, but I suspect that if she had, she would have had that gift, as well.

After Greg and I were married, we discovered that he, too, was talented in psychic photography! In fact, Greg could fill a book with his paranormal photographs if he wanted to. It's just that he, like Mama, doesn't take nearly as many photographs as I do.

The truth is that all of us have at least one psychic gift, whether we realize it or not. After you find your gift, you need to use and develop it.

There are several psychic abilities besides psychic photography-having psychic dreams, hearing and/or seeing the paranormal, etc.

I can take paranormal photos, but I don't know how to interpret them, so that is where people like Maria come in. Maria is very gifted in her ability to give psychic readings. I call her on the phone whenever I need to know something in the realm of the paranormal.

A few days ago, I got a very informative psychic reading from this amazing psychic that I hadn't contacted in over a year. I had a lot to ask her, and this reading lasted for over an hour!

First, I asked her about a photo that Greg had taken a couple of weeks ago-

This photo is completely untouched except for the added watermark.

It was a picture of a sunset with several wispy clouds, and in the lower right side of the picture is vibrant white cloud-shaped ectoplasm. And that's not all! Notice also the other faint ectoplasm and several orbs in the photo. At the bottom center of the picture is a small colored orb.

In Maria's analysis of  Greg's photo, she said that there were a lot of dead people in our area, due to the Civil War, and that the spirits like Greg's energy.

Another wonderful psychic, Elaine, (who is now a spirit herself, and is featured in my paranormal book*) once told me that anytime you see something glowing in a photo (like in Greg's photo above), that it's paranormal.

Also, I have a paranormal update. In last month's "Spirit Photographs" blog post, "Eerie Spirit Photo," on Saturday, February 18, 2023, there was a picture of a tree that I took. Maria said that the spirits liked to be acknowledged by me.

I have a lot more to tell you about Maria's amazing reading that I'll save to write about in next month's blog post, including showing you a partial eerie photo that my brother recently sent me that is really different than any I have ever seen. It's really creepy, and it frightens me although I've seen and taken a lot of really strange photographs myself!

To be continued next month...

*My book is "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind," and it is full of paranormal photography (with narrative), that Nick, Greg, and I have taken. For more information about my book on Amazon Kindle, please click the widget above.

Creepy Virginia Creeper Trail

 Welcome!

Greg and I recently visited the Virginia Creeper Trail which starts not far from where we live.

It was beautiful day. We enjoyed the picturesque scenery, and we took some pictures as we often do when we visit different places, especially when they're new to us.

I started noticing faint ectoplasm in some of the photographs like in the photo above. The horse and the small cluster of leaves behind the horse look washed out.

Not only that, look at the photo that Greg took of me below!

When I saw this photo, I got a little upset, and said, "Just look at my face, arms, everything, bleached out! What's going on?" Greg assured me that it was okay, and reminded me of the picture I took of him on the grounds of a mansion in Georgia that is said to be haunted. In that photo, Greg's face, body, and most of the tree behind him appear to be bleached.

(The photo I took of Greg is in my paranormal book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind" which is on Amazon. For more information, please see the widget above.)

A couple of days later, at home, I ran across an intriguing book that I had bought several years ago that I had never taken the time to read. The book is "Legends, Stories and Ghostly Tales of Abingdon and Washington County, Virginia" by Donna Akers Warmuth. This is the very area where we now live. I had bought the book sometime before we moved to our present home.

I decided to look through the book, and I found a couple of pages that mentioned the Virginia Creeper Trail! According to the book, there used to be train tracks where the nature trail is today. When the tracks were being laid, many of those that worked on the tracks died due to horrible working conditions, and their bodies were dumped along the tracks in shallow graves. Therefore, the area became haunted by the spirits of the men that had once worked there!

Sounds of moaning have been heard there at night, and dogs refuse to go on the Creeper Trail at night.

My advice is to go and see the beauty and walk the trail during the day, but by all means, don't go at night!

Our cabin update: More strange things have happened in connection with our cabin/house. I'll fill you in next month unless something else even bigger happens in the meantime. You just never know!

Weird Happenings at the Cabin

Welcome!

On my 5/16/20 "Spirit Photographs" blog post, "A Haunted Cabin," I wrote about the unfinished cabin that is on our property. I had done a ritual of smudging using white sage, and I had convinced myself that the cabin was free of any paranormal activity, but now, I don't think so for two reasons.

First of all, one day, a few weeks ago, I went on the porch of the cabin to see about the plant that was there, when I heard an unexplained noise come from inside the cabin. This is not unusual as this has happened before.

Then, just moments later, I felt the floor of the porch slightly, subtly, and briefly vibrate beneath my feet. I couldn't believe what I was feeling, since I would never have suspected something like that would happen. That was really weird, to say the least!

Cabin Porch

Then, a few days later, I saw Greg out working in the yard, and I decided to take a picture of him as an example of  a person doing something that he loved to do for my other blog, "The Art of Positive Living."

That little plan was foiled, however, when, despite my holding my camera perfectly still, the whole picture looked as though I'd shaken it on purpose! I've encountered this same phenomenon before when in the presence of paranormal activity.

The cabin is directly behind the tree that Greg is standing in front of.

I started to wonder why the sage ritual that had worked successfully for me before had apparently not worked on the cabin. I finally decided that the new sage that I'd used was barely smoking, and that I'd have to work on the sage to make it burn better to get better results.

We have been really busy working on our house the past few months, and I haven't had much extra time to devote to working anything such as the paranormal. However, I'm going to carve out some time soon to rid the cabin of  the weird happenings taking place there.

In a few months we hope to either rent out the cabin or to use it as a guest cottage, but the way things are now, I don't believe anyone would want to stay there unless they are real ghost enthusiasts with nerves of steel!

I'll have an update next month on the cabin, plus, Greg and are are planning to visit a creepy area near where we live soon, so please stay tuned!

Eerie Apparition in England!

Welcome!

Have I got an eerie photo to show you!

A few weeks ago, my brother, Nick, and his wife and son went on a trip to England. Nick always sends us any unusual photos that he takes while traveling.

Well, the following photographs are certainly unusual, to say the least!-

This is a photograph of Salisbury Cathedral in England at night. If that's not creepy enough, look at the close-up in the next photo!

What is this?!!!

Here's how Nick's and my emails went, back and forth, about this strange photo-

Nick-"I was going over some of the England pics last night and came across this eerie figure in a nighttime photo at Salisbury Cathedral. I remember that no one else was on the cathedral grounds as it was about 10 pm. I've included the original and a close-up. I didn't notice anything unusual when I took the pic and hadn't seen the figure until now.
Let me know what you think!"

Becky-"Wow! Scary, creepy! Greg and I were amazed by this photo! To us, it looks like a woman in a period dress, riding some kind of animal like a horse. Their faces are almost scull-like. I believe this is an apparition because what else could it be? If you remember in my book ("Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind" on Amazon) on page 72, there was an apparition inside SALISBURY CATHEDRAL! That place must really be haunted! You were lucky to have captured this as apparitions on camera, of course, as you know, are rare. Good job!"

In another related email, Nick went on to say, "I wish we'd had more time around the cathedral that night but we were all tired. Understandably, that area had a very real feeling of eeriness and foreboding. I was hoping to find something of interest in the several pics I took and (was) really surprised when I later noticed the figure. Many times these types of images just sort of look like a certain form or shape by being "matrixed" by your brain into something which really isn't there. But, this object does look real, whatever it is...."

Thanks, Nick, for sharing!

Nick, as well as Greg and I, all have the gift of taking spirit photographs. I chronicle all of this in my book.

Nick is the one who took the famous June Tolliver House ghost photo. That photo is in a chapter of my book. To order the book, just click the link above.

Next week, Greg and I will be going to see the Barter Theatre (in Abingdon, Virginia) production of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" which is one of my favorite stories of all time.

Haunted Waverly Mansion, West Point, Mississippi

Welcome!

And...

A few weeks ago, Greg and I got to visit a beautiful historic, antebellum home, Waverly Mansion, in West Point, Mississippi. A visitor can tour the home just for its beauty and historic significance, or do like Greg and I did, tour the old plantation house from a mostly paranormal perspective.

Waverly Mansion

Right off, before we even entered the home for our tour, we noticed the ectoplasm around the cupola in this picture I'd just taken. That alone told us that this place was really haunted!

Also, notice the ectoplasm in the upper left-hand part of the photo (below) of the trees on the grounds of the mansion.

Our tour guide, Jimmy, along with Midnight the cat and Talula the dog met us in front of the house.

The interior of the house is quite impressive.

According to Jimmy, one of the ghosts haunting Waverly is that of a little girl, Cynthia Hampton, who fell to her death on this stairway.

Little Cynthia's ghost has been seen lying on the bed in the red room (above) by a least one visitor.

Notice the ectoplasm on the right side of the railing which is just outside the red room.

A woman who lived in this house died in this bedroom. Her ghost was seen by another tour guide walking from her bedroom toward the front door. Instead of using the door, she simply walked through the wall!

Greg is standing in the very same hallway where the woman's ghost was seen walking from her room toward the front door.

More strange occurrences-

A previous tour guide saw this brass bucket move several times on its own. It was twirling, etc.

Notice the obvious ethereal pastel-colored ectoplasm in this photo. It was in this area that the family had baptisms, weddings, wakes, and funerals. With all of the emotion associated with this area, no wonder there is ectoplasm there!

The reflections in this mirror look pretty creepy, but I'm not sure if it's just light from the windows, or ectoplasm. (However, it was pretty dark outside that day due to rainy conditions, and it was late in the afternoon so I don't really believe it was due to the lighting conditions.)

My only disappointment was that I wasn't allowed to use the flash with my camera. If I had, I'm sure I could have captured more weird things like grids in the many mirrors there.

(I discuss and show grids along with many other psychic phenomena in my book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind" which can be ordered from Amazon or from the widget above.)

There are several more ghostly stories about this very haunted place, but I'll leave those for you to discover for yourself!

More interesting facts about Waverly Mansion-
-The name Waverly came from Sir Walter Scott's novel, "Waverly" which was in the library at Waverly Mansion.
-The mansion has been featured in "Home and Garden" magazine and on "Larry King Live," among others.
-"TripAdvisor gave Waverly Mansion a "Certificate of Excellence."
-Greg and I found out about Waverly from a DVD entitled "Hauntings in America" that I had given Greg as a gift.
-Our tour guide, Jimmy, said that in all the years he's been giving tours there that he has never seen or heard or felt anything strange. (Which is probably a good thing!) Even when some ghost hunters were there and noticed that the temperature quickly dropped in one area of the house, Jimmy said he didn't feel anything.

Greg and I would like to thank Jimmy for being an excellent tour guide which made our visit there very memorable!
