Haunted Columbia, Tennessee

Greg and I don't have to go very far to find a haunted town, because we live in one, Columbia, Tennessee!

Columbia is an old historic town where James K. Polk, the 11th president of the United States, lived for a time.

When we first moved here, we took an interesting "Columbia Ghost Tour," and found out just how haunted Columbia really was, with many stories of strange things that happened to regular folks just like you and me.

For more info about the haunted tour, go to:

www.facebook.com/ColumbiaGhostTour

And, also, see my previous 8/24/12 "Spirit Photographs" blog post about the Columbia Ghost Tour when we went on it.

Last month, we went to the annual Mule Day parade in Columbia, and were just trying to get some good pictures of the parade, when we got an unexpected bonus in several of our photos, ectoplasm, in the daylight, without any camera flash!

Check out the photos below that Greg and I took-

This photo is one of several that Greg took that had ectoplasm. Notice the lower part of the building behind the girl on the right.

After the parade, we went to a restaurant for lunch, and every picture I took of it was "fogged' over with ectoplasm!

This place must really be haunted! Compare the clarity of Greg's photo to the one I took of the restaurant to see how fuzzy my photo really is.

This restaurant is relatively new, so I don't think it was in existence when we went on the ghost tour. If it isn't mentioned on the tour now, it probably should be!

Come and check out haunted Columbia, Tennessee for yourself sometime. Bet you'll be glad you did if you like the paranormal!

Thanks for visiting! Until the first weekend in June, Becky...

Weird Photo of a Haunted House

Welcome!

Since my last "Spirit Photographs" blog post, I've taken several pictures that have been paranormal.  I'd like to share one of those with you today.  I think it's the most unusual one of the bunch as I've never taken one quite like this one before.

It's a picture of an old (haunted) house in Columbia, Tennessee which I wrote about on my 9/7/12 blog post.  It was one of the houses featured in the Columbia Ghost Tour that Greg and I took.  The photo I featured on the other post shows an orb in the upper right-hand corner of the house.

The photo I took recently, here on this post, is really weird!  I took the photo from the passenger side as the car was moving which might have caused the wavy lines in the photo.  It also has a wet look, but I can't remember if it was raining that day or not.  It's strange that part of the photo is perfectly normal looking, however, except for the scary image in the upper right-hand window!

I haven't yet shown this photo to any psychics, so I'd love to hear from anyone who would like to interpret this one for me and the other readers!

I also have a huge announcement about my book:  "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind" is now a Kindle book!  Please get it today, and write a review on my Amazon page.

Thanks for visiting!  Until next Saturday, June 6, 2015, or sooner, Becky

"Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind," from the Heart

Welcome!

On this blog post, I want to share with you, from my heart, a little of the behind-the-scenes part of my paranormal book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind."

"Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind" is a paranormal book containing around 110 paranormal photographs that were taken by me, my husband, my brother, and a couple of other people we know.  They are one hundred percent real, taken from our many photo albums we'd compiled throughout the years.  (One day, after going through these albums, I decided these would be great published in a book.)

We aren't professional photographers with any special skills; we're just ordinary people who've had extraordinary encounters with the spirit world through the pictures we've taken.

Being able to take pictures like this is a psychic gift; instead of seeing and hearing spirits like some psychics, we just take pictures of them.

I've had mixed reactions about my book since it first came out.

Many people I know have just tried to ignore it (even people I've given it to as a gift!-no thank you, nothing), It's like they're hoping it will just go quietly into the night and disappear.  This reaction could be due to fear of the unknown-or you name it!

Others have been very supportive-complimentary, encouraging.  Some have thought I was very brave for presenting this book to the world.  (I appreciate the compliment, but I just had a story to tell, and I was determined to tell it, no matter what!)

Today, I just want to thank all of you who have been positive toward me and my first paranormal book.  (I hope to have another true paranormal book out whenever I get everything compiled and written.)

Thanks to any of you who have helped promote "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind" in any way-through reading my blog, buying my book, giving likes on Facebook, selling my book in your shops, telling others about my book, etc.

I'm just one person trying to get the word out in my own way about the spirit world being real.  It's not all evil.  There are good and bad spirits there just as there are good and bad people here.  (My husband and I have a couple of spirits living in our home right now that are attached to two of our antiques.  They don't bother us, and we don't bother them.  We're all getting along just fine!)

I'm just a little first-time author with no connection to big-time publishing companies, book stores, television networks, or the good-ol'-boy/girl network, etc. who needs your help!  Thanks so much for your support!

Columbia Ghost Tour, Revisited

Welcome!

You might have read my previous blog post, "Ghost Tour." (Please see the August 24, 2012 blog post.)  In this post I want to update the tour by telling you what has transpired since then.  First of all, I was rather disappointed in the photographs that we took on the tour.  The best we could tell, all we got was one small orb near the doorway of one of the buildings on the tour.  One of the main problems was that it was so dark that the flash had trouble picking up anything.  Therefore, Greg and I decided to go back to some of the places that were featured on that tour in downtown Columbia, Tennessee.  We went back on Saturday, September 1, one night after the full moon.  (Did you know that the best orb pictures are usually taken before, after, and during the full moon?)  This time, we went earlier in the evening, around dusk.  We discovered that was a much better time, because we did get more things to show up in our pictures.

The evidence-

These two pictures above were taken just seconds apart.  See the bright shiny orb in one picture, but nothing in the other?  (It's always good to take more than one picture of your subject so you can compare the two, as far as paranormal photography goes.)

As I was getting ready to take a picture of this house that was featured on the tour, I noticed that an upstairs light in the window on the left suddenly went off.  This house is a museum which was closed for the day.  We looked for someone to maybe come out or to turn more lights on or off, but they never did.  The only light that we noticed on during both the tour and the night we returned to the house, was the one which lit up the stairway.  (There are several orbs around the window areas and the door.)

                                                   A Spooky-looking Place!
Several doctors have lived in the house above, which is supposed to be very haunted.  It most certainly is haunted, as no one has ever lived in it for very long at a time.  (Notice the orb on the upper right of the house.)

Ghost Tour

Welcome!

Recently, Greg and I had a frightfully delightful time on a local ghost tour in historic downtown Columbia, Tennessee.

                                               On the Court House Steps

The tour was short, sweet (and scary!), and to the point.  By using the word "short," I really mean the perfect amount of time of over an hour.  (We have been on some tours that were so long that we got bored and wished they would just hurry and end.  Once, it got so late that we decided to leave early.)  The tour had just enough history mixed in with the ghostly tales to make it interesting.

Our very professional tour guide was Adam Southern, accompanied by his wife, Kayla.  Both were dressed in Civil War garb which added a nice touch.

We met at the court house which is supposed to be the most haunted place in the whole area.

There were plenty of tales of murder and mayhem.  Adam also told of his own personal experiences such as his encounter with the lady in white.  Strange things have even happened during the tour itself several times.

Since Adam works at the library, he has researched the ghostly goings-on in the town very thoroughly.  (The library was also one of the ten places featured on the tour.)

The only spirit photograph that we took on the tour was one that showed a small orb near the door of one of the buildings.

All in all, it was a memorable evening, reasonably priced, that I would highly recommend to anyone who likes to "walk on Columbia's dark side," as it says on the tour info.
