A Paranormal Adventure in New York, Including UFO's!

Welcome!

On this special pre-Halloween blog post, I'd like to feature my brother's recent paranormal adventure in New York state.

My brother is Nick Botts who is mentioned in my book "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind."  Among other things, in the book, I show Nick's now famous June Tolliver House ghost picture which he took when he was just a school boy in Big Stone Gap, Virginia.

Nick does have a gift for taking paranormal photos, just as my husband Greg and I do.

Nick also has a keen interest in the paranormal which is evidenced by the places he and his wife went on their trip to New York.  They went by the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York and the Burn Brae mansion in Glen Spey, New York which were both featured on recent episodes of Syfy's "Ghost Hunters."

They didn't notice anything unusual about either place.  That's the way it usually goes, you don't see or hear anything at so many of these "haunted" places you visit.  Greg and I have run into that several times.

However, when you least expect it, something really great shows up!  That's exactly what happened to Nick on this trip.

While still on the trip, he emailed me an extraordinary photo that he had taken from the walkway of the Hudson Bridge in New York.

In his email, he said, "Here's a weird pic...notice the strange objects in formation in the sky.  I did see something right when I snapped but (they) were gone in an instant."

Wow!  This picture is amazing!  It was a really lucky shot.  You can see, especially when you study the objects more closely, that they are flying saucers, just like in the old classic flying saucer movies.

Capturing UFO's on camera is probably even rarer than capturing an apparition.

Good job, Nick!  Thanks for sharing!

Paranormal, New and Vintage

Welcome back!

I've missed being here and not writing my blog posts the past few weeks, but I've been very busy with some other projects.  Once I get them going better, I'll try to write my blog posts more often.  For now, however, I believe once a month is the best I can do.

I have two intriguing paranormal things, new and vintage, I'd like to share with you.

First of all, for the most part, our house has been pretty quiet the past few weeks, paranormal-wise.  However, our cars have been acting up!

One day, while I was by myself in our house, I suddenly heard a car horn blowing.  I tried to think it was a neighbor's car horn, but I could have sworn the sound was coming from my own horn.  The noise didn't last long, probably only about 30 seconds.

My "Haunted?" Car

Then, a few days later, while Greg was home, we both heard the distinct sound of a car horn blowing.  Determined to see from where the sound was coming, I raced to the second floor and looked out the window.  There, I saw with my own eyes, Greg's car lights going off and on, and heard the horn loudly blowing!  I told Greg what I had witnessed, and he said he hadn't touched his keys and had no idea on why the car could be doing that!

In addition, on the day we were going to leave on a big trip, Greg found his car truck open.  I assured him that I hadn't been near his keys or his car that day.

Also, I've been experiencing some car problems which, hopefully, are now fixed!

The other thing I'd like to share is info from an email my brother, Nick, sent me.  He, Greg, and I try to keep up with the paranormal since it has always intrigued and fascinated us and has been an important part of our lives.  (Nick took the picture of the now famous June Tolliver House ghost which I discuss in my book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind.")

Anyway, in the email, Nick told me about coming across a vintage 1965 NBC documentary on YouTube entitled "The Stately Ghosts of England."  It features the late actress Margaret Rutherford, her husband, and a psychic who visit three haunted English mansions.  They actually do catch spirit activity on film at one mansion.  Just like Nick says, "It's kind of hokey but still entertaining.  It's a forerunner of all the ghost hunter-type shows on today."  It's really fun to compare them.

Also, on YouTube, are many other interesting paranormal videos.

Thanks, Nick, for sharing.  Good stuff!

June Tolliver House Ghost Photo

Welcome!

During this time of year, when ghosts rule, more people start searching for June Tolliver ghost info.

The June Tolliver House Last Year, with an Artist's Rendition of the June Tolliver House Ghost

It all started when my brother, who was just a school boy, took a picture of the June Tolliver house in Big Stone Gap, Virginia.  What showed up in that upstairs window, has led to much speculation.  Because of that picture, taken on an Easter Sunday, many years ago, I discovered that not only my brother, but that I also had a gift for taking paranormal photos.  Years later, strangely enough, when I got married, I discovered that my husband had this gift as well!

After a while, we had lots of paranormal photographs in our albums, so I decided to write a book about them.  The book, of course, is "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind."

Yes, I did write about the June Tolliver House ghost picture.  In fact, there is a whole chapter devoted to the June Tolliver House in my book.  The now famous ghost picture is even on the cover of the book.

People want to know how to get a copy of "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind."  On my "Spirit Photographs" blog, you can just click on my book widget at the top of the page, or on my Facebook page, you can click on "About," then under "Description," just click on "See more," and that will tell you where all you can get a copy for yourself and/or one for someone else.

Also, I've written several blog posts about the June Tolliver House.  Just take a look at my "Spirit Photographs" blog and see for yourself!

New Paranormal Book

Welcome back!

I just wanted you to know that my new paranormal book is now available in either paperback or PDF download.

The title of the book is Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind.  It contains paranormal photographs that my brother, my husband, other people, and I have taken throughout the years.

Many ghost books only show pictures of buildings that they say are haunted, and then they tell a story about them, but there's nothing supernatural about the photos.  However, almost all of the photos in my book (around 110) contain some type of ectoplasm in them, with interesting tidbits or stories about each one.

In addition, I also have a couple of chapters, as a sort of bonus, that are devoted to true, never-before- told ghost stories.

This Saturday, July 27, I will be at the June Tolliver House in Big Stone Gap, Virginia for a book signing.  In the book, I devote a whole chapter to the haunted June Tolliver House.  One of the pictures in that chapter is the locally famous June Tolliver House ghost picture.

Hope to see you there!
