Getting Rid of Negative Energy, Bad Spirits

Welcome!

I consulted a psychic, Hawley, a few weeks ago, and she suggested that I cleanse our new house because of the negative energy of the spirit of the man who used to live in our house. He was not a nice person, and there is a lot of heavy, unhappy energy here. There is a feeling of resistance; it makes it hard for us to do our work.

Since I spoke with Hawley, things have improved. I believe the previous owner is keeping a lower profile, that he's not sure what we're going to do to him!

Photo of Kallie and Mitzi

During the past month, the only photo that I have taken in our house that might be paranormal is the one above which shows our two cats, Kallie and Mitzi, between the living room and hallway. There is an obvious glare on the floor from the window, but there is also a fuzziness that could possibly be ectoplasm.

As far as strange noises, I have heard nothing, but Greg said that he heard a noise upstairs one night while he was downstairs. He thought that it was the cats making the noise, but  he looked around, and he said that both cats were downstairs, as was I. And, that's it! We're getting off easily compared to what we have encountered the previous months that we have been here.

However, I decided that this afternoon I'd go ahead and do the salt cleanse that is outlined in the intriguing book "Feng Shui Your Life" by Jayme Barrett.

I have gathered all of the necessary components to carry out this cleanse.

Jayme says that this salt-burning ritual is great for "intense purification" like "when you move into a new home." She says it "will cleanse your emotions at the same time." She warns about being careful when performing the ritual since fire is involved.

Jayme said that salt burning is also good to use after an illness or death.

I'll let you know how this ritual went on the next blog post in April.

Take care, and happy spring!

Consulting a Psychic About Strange Goings-on

Welcome!

On my last blog post that I posted on Saturday, January 18, entitled "Christmas Spirits," I told about mysterious happenings in our old house that we've lived in for the past six months. I said in that post that there would probably be more strange things happening between then and now, and there have been. I also said I was going to consult a psychic about the strange goings-on, and I did.

Here's what happened-

The day after I posted my blog post, my husband, Greg, was in our downstairs bathroom, getting dressed, and our two cats, Kallie and Mitzi, were with me in the kitchen where I was giving them coconut oil which they love. Suddenly, I heard a rather loud noise like someone had dropped something on the floor above the cats and me which would be in the storage room where I've heard noises before.

About three times the night before, Greg and I both heard noises in the house after we had gone to bed. It was like a door was being opened and closed. Once there was a squeaking noise like the storage room door makes when it's pushed a certain way.

Finally, on January 22, I contacted an excellent psychic about all that was happening. I asked her one simple question, "Is our house haunted?"

She gave me her answer- that our 1901 house was, indeed, haunted by the spirit of a man who had previously lived here. He hangs around to see what's going on. He's very territorial, interested in what we're doing. He doesn't like us messing with his house.

He was not a nice person. He cheated people and even hit his wife. He was so mean that he is afraid to move on to the light, so he stays in our house.

The psychic told us what to do. She said to talk to him and to tell him nicely to leave us alone, that we need to fix the house.

We need to get rid of the negative energy, the sadness in the house. She suggested smudging, which we have done before on our other houses, but I also know of another method which I'll try first, by burning salt which I already have. We're just waiting for warmer weather so we can open the windows while we're doing our ritual.

Since I talked with the psychic, things seem to have calmed down quite a bit. Thankfully, we have had only a couple of weird occurrences the last few weeks.

One night, when Greg and I were in our bedroom, I quietly asked him if he'd noticed any "funny stuff" going on, and he said he hadn't. Then, the next morning, I went over to the heater in our bedroom, to turn it off, but it was already off. Greg said he had not turned it off. I figured it was our resident spirit that was letting me know that he was still here, and he wanted to show me an example of some funny stuff that I had asked Greg about. I decided to tell the spirit that we didn't want the heater messed with any more, to leave it alone.

Also, another night, Greg heard a knocking noise as he came out of our bathroom that is adjacent to our bedroom.

Besides noises, we also have photographic evidence of something strange, something that we can't explain-

Part of the time, Greg feeds our cats. I thought it was so cute, Kallie and Mitzi trailing behind him as he took their food to their room for them to eat, so I took this picture, above. Little did I know something strange would show up in that photo. (This was taken at the end of January, but we still hadn't put away all of our Christmas decorations for various reasons.)

Elaine Watson, a talented local psychic who helped advise me on my book,"Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind," (which is for sale on Amazon) said that anything that glows in a photograph is most assuredly paranormal.

The supernatural beat goes on, until we can get our cleansing salt ritual going. We may even follow up with smudging which surely wouldn't hurt!

I'll let you know more next time.

A Haunted B&B, and More

Welcome!

Every month, Greg and I are still amazed by the paranormal activity that we capture on film.

Last month was no exception.

In September, Greg and I took an overnight trip to visit family. Before we left, on the spur of the moment, I decided to take a picture of our large poke plant. When we looked at the photo, we noticed immediately that there was ectoplasm in at least a third of the picture.

Little did we know that this was apparently a little preview of things to come on our trip!

We stayed at a B&B that was a turn-of-the-century Queen Anne's cottage. It was quiet charming, up to a point.

We really loved our stay there although we kept hearing strange noises during the night. I woke up several times to sounds that seemed like they were coming from one corner of our room. Greg heard a weird noise that sounded like it was right behind our heads while we were in bed.

Nothing showed up in photos I had taken inside the old house that night, but the next morning was a different story. Three pictures I had taken outside on the porch had different types of ectoplasm in them.

The best of the three appeared to have a foggy look, plus there was ectoplasm near two old bicycles, there were weird steaks, etc. in the window and in the glass door., and in the lower right-hand corner of the photo was a bright pink color that looked almost like blood running down off the porch.

Front Porch of Haunted B&B

I showed the photos to the owner who told me that he and one or two others had heard and even seen some paranormal activity there as well. I do believe that to be true!

We've stayed in several B&B's most of our married life, and a few of them have been haunted. Our first one was in St. Augustine which I wrote about in my book, "Photographic Encounters of the Spirit Kind" which is available both on Amazon and Fast Pencil.

So, if you're interested in having a ghostly encounter of your own, might I highly recommend that you spent the night in a B&B, especially one that is rather old! Happy ghostly encounters!

Our sister-in-law Cris told us about two paranormal TV shows she really likes, "Ghost Asylum" and "Haunted Case Files," on "Destination America." We don't currently get that channel, but now, we're thinking about it.

Paranormal or Not?

Welcome!

Sometimes things happen that seem strange, but it's not always clear if they are paranormal or not.

For instance, something in your house may not be sitting in the spot where it's usually sitting, so you wonder if someone else in the house moved it or was it moved by some paranormal means?

That happened at our house a few months ago.  One day, when I went into our guest room, I noticed that our love seat had moved about six inches to the right from where it had been sitting.  I asked Greg if he had moved it, and he said he had not.  I knew I hadn't moved it, but why was it not where it usually sits?  Then, it suddenly dawned on me-the night before, I was awakened by a loud noise which seemed to have come from across the hall where the guest room is!  (That night, I had quickly looked out into the hall and in the guest room, but saw nothing and went back to bed.)  Finally, I put two and two together and decided that apparently the love seat had been moved by paranormal means.  Now, that's scary (especially since I was having to spend the night by myself due to Greg's work schedule at that time), and paranormal!

Another strange incident happened with our television.  I was eagerly anticipating watching my favorite TV show.  I turned on the TV a few minutes early, and everything was fine.  However, when my show came on, there was absolutely no sound!  When the show went off, the sound went back on!  I couldn't believe it!  For two more weeks, the same thing happened.  I felt really paranoid about this, and in light of some of the stuff that had been going on here in the past, I blamed any mischievous spirits which might have been playing a cruel joke on me.  Finally, however, the next time that happened, I called our cable provider and the network, and I found out the same thing had been happening to others, and that it was just a technical glitch which they told me how to fix.

This is a scene from my favorite TV show, "Keeping Up Appearances."  (Although I'm really into the  paranormal and love shows such as "Ghost Hunters," "Finding Bigfoot," and "The Twilight Zone," I'm afraid Hyacinth Bucket and her hilarious antics wins first place from me.)

I am now a happy camper, but decided I'm just going to buy the complete series on DVD so I can watch it whenever I feel like it and not to be at the mercy of any more technical glitches.  (I hope!)

But, my point here is that I had jumped to the wrong conclusion, that this was a paranormal incident when it was not.

Thankfully, things do seem to be going better here at our house, now, except we did hear a strange noise few weeks ago.  Greg and I were nearly asleep in our bedroom, when we heard the very same weird, loud noise that I wrote about in my September 27, 2014 blog post, entitled "Living in a Haunted House."  I'm glad Greg finally got to hear it, but he was like me, he could not identify what the noise was because he had never heard anything like it before either!  In other words, it was what you might call an other-worldly sound!

Have a great week!

Haunted Boyhood Home

Welcome!

In last week's blog post, I began telling some things about my new book which will be coming out soon.  This week, I will continue that by discussing one of the chapters in the book, "Haunted Boyhood Home."

The "boyhood home" I'm referring to is my husband Greg's home where he grew up.  People who lived in the house often heard strange noises, and the maid just swore she knew it was haunted.

Many years later, Greg and I lived there for a while to help take care of his father.  That was quite an experience, as we heard strange noises, voices, saw a strange hand print, and, of course, took several paranormal pictures.  One night, Greg even saw an apparition!   It was all rather frightening.  Let's put it this way, you couldn't pay me a hundred thousand dollars to spent the night in that house by myself!

There are more details and a lot more photos in my soon-to-be published book.

Please stay tuned!
