"A Christmastime Paranormal Incident"

For the past few weeks I have had very persistent sinus/throat congestion. This is unusual for me, because I hardly ever have anything like this. I don't like to take medicine, so I do natural healing methods. I take herbs and vitamins, and I make my own home remedies.

One day, about a week ago, I noticed something unusual as I went through our memorabilia room. I noticed that part of one of our displays had moved a few inches from the wall, toward the edge of the table it was on. I couldn't understand why it had moved since nothing like that had ever happened before in the two or three years that the display had been there.

I started analyzing the situation, and I decided that the painting that my grandmother had painted of my grandfather's old homeplace had somehow moved and had pushed some things that were in front of it.

 The photographs in the lower corners of the painting are of portraits that my father had done of my grandparents. 

The framed painting had pushed some brochures, a family calendar, and an old pill box with a letter underneath it.

The pill box contained a very old pill that was sent to me last Christmas, along with a letter from my childhood friend, Susie, who had known my grandparents when she was growing up. It was a leftover pill of several that my grandfather, an eye, ear, nose, and throat specialist, had given Susie's grandmother years ago to heal her of some ailment.

I decided that the things on display had moved for a reason, to get my attention. I feel like my grandfather, who is in spirit, was trying to tell me that I really needed to take some medicine, to help me heal from my persistent illness. I also decided that if I don't improve in a few more days, I would seriously consider trying some medicine.

Also, coincidentally, the very next day, after this strange incident, I received another Christmas card from my childhood friend, Susie.

I consider all of this to be a Christmastime paranormal incident.

"Spirit Photographs" Update

Today, I'd like to give you an update on the paranormal things that have happened in my life since our last meeting on this "Spirit Photographs" blog.

First of all, one morning, a few weeks ago, I went into our guest room, and noticed that the cushions and pillows on the love seat had fallen over and one was even on the floor.  It was an unusual thing to happen, and I thought that maybe the cats had done it, but they've never done anything like that before.  Also, it's certainly within the realm of possibility that it was a paranormal occurrence, because one night, several months ago, I heard a loud noise from this same area, and discovered that the love seat had apparently moved about six inches to the right, by itself!

Are these two cats innocent or guilty?

Also, I mentioned in my last "Spirit Photographs" blog post (Please see my Saturday, August 8, 2015 post.), that my mother had just recently passed over, and that I had started getting positive messages, just as a psychic said I would, like "Love never fails."

I first saw "Love never fails." just two days just after she'd passed, on a girl's tee shirt, while I was in a store to buy a frame for a special photo collage I was going to fix as a tribute to Mama for her funeral service.  I thought that "Love never fails." looked familiar, but I couldn't quite remember where it came from.

Then, a few days later, I was looking through a box that a relative had given me that contained a few of Mama's possessions, and I couldn't believe it. but there, in the bottom of the box was a new-looking note pad holder that I'd never seen before that said, "Love never fails."

As if this weren't enough, about a week later, I was going through my emails that I was far behind on, and one of them really got my attention.  It was an email from Joel Osteen, "Today's Word with Joel and Victoria," which was entitled, "Love Never Fails." (1 Corinthians 13:8).  (I was glad to know that "Love never fails." was from one of my favorite Biblical passages which I hadn't recognized on the tee shirt.)

And what's more- and this is mind-boggling to me- Joel's email was dated July 31, 2015...the very day my mother had passed away!

Paranormal or Not?

Sometimes things happen that seem strange, but it's not always clear if they are paranormal or not.

For instance, something in your house may not be sitting in the spot where it's usually sitting, so you wonder if someone else in the house moved it or was it moved by some paranormal means?

That happened at our house a few months ago.  One day, when I went into our guest room, I noticed that our love seat had moved about six inches to the right from where it had been sitting.  I asked Greg if he had moved it, and he said he had not.  I knew I hadn't moved it, but why was it not where it usually sits?  Then, it suddenly dawned on me-the night before, I was awakened by a loud noise which seemed to have come from across the hall where the guest room is!  (That night, I had quickly looked out into the hall and in the guest room, but saw nothing and went back to bed.)  Finally, I put two and two together and decided that apparently the love seat had been moved by paranormal means.  Now, that's scary (especially since I was having to spend the night by myself due to Greg's work schedule at that time), and paranormal!

Another strange incident happened with our television.  I was eagerly anticipating watching my favorite TV show.  I turned on the TV a few minutes early, and everything was fine.  However, when my show came on, there was absolutely no sound!  When the show went off, the sound went back on!  I couldn't believe it!  For two more weeks, the same thing happened.  I felt really paranoid about this, and in light of some of the stuff that had been going on here in the past, I blamed any mischievous spirits which might have been playing a cruel joke on me.  Finally, however, the next time that happened, I called our cable provider and the network, and I found out the same thing had been happening to others, and that it was just a technical glitch which they told me how to fix.

This is a scene from my favorite TV show, "Keeping Up Appearances."  (Although I'm really into the  paranormal and love shows such as "Ghost Hunters," "Finding Bigfoot," and "The Twilight Zone," I'm afraid Hyacinth Bucket and her hilarious antics wins first place from me.)

I am now a happy camper, but decided I'm just going to buy the complete series on DVD so I can watch it whenever I feel like it and not to be at the mercy of any more technical glitches.  (I hope!)

But, my point here is that I had jumped to the wrong conclusion, that this was a paranormal incident when it was not.

Thankfully, things do seem to be going better here at our house, now, except we did hear a strange noise few weeks ago.  Greg and I were nearly asleep in our bedroom, when we heard the very same weird, loud noise that I wrote about in my September 27, 2014 blog post, entitled "Living in a Haunted House."  I'm glad Greg finally got to hear it, but he was like me, he could not identify what the noise was because he had never heard anything like it before either!  In other words, it was what you might call an other-worldly sound!

A Paranormal Incident

(Last week, I had technical difficulties beyond my control, so I didn't get to publish my blog post.  All is well, now, as you can see.)

A couple of weeks ago, Greg and I were staying at someone's town house by ourselves.  While there, something very strange happened to me.  Greg had gone to pick up some breakfast for us, while I was in the upstairs bathroom, getting ready for the day.  I was standing at the bathroom mirror, when all of a sudden, out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a hand towel fall off the rack onto the top of the bathroom cabinet.  Of course, I thought that was a little strange, and tried to figure out why that would have happened.  I hadn't made any sudden, jarring movement to have made it fall.  I placed the towel back on the rack.  I thought no more about it, and dried my hair with my hair dryer.  After I finished, I glanced over at the towel, and it had fallen off again!  (No, the dryer hadn't blown it off, because I later deliberately tried to blow it off, which I couldn't do, as an experiment.)

We'd stayed there several times before, but that same towel had stayed on the rack, as most any normal towel would do.

As I stood there, thinking about what had happened to me (twice!), cold chills ran up and down my  spine.  This is the kind of thing that normally just happens on the ghost hunting shows on TV, not to me!  This was the first incident of this type I'd ever encountered, and it was a little frightening.  (However, taking paranormal photographs has never bothered me.)

I mentioned the incident to the owner of the town house, and she said she and her family had never noticed anything strange happening before.  Of course, they'd never actually stayed there, as they'd only rented it out at one time to someone else. 

However, the town house owner did take the time to tell me a paranormal incident that happened to her, not too long ago, in the house where she lives which involved hearing strange noises.

Guess supernatural events are more common than one might think!  It's just that most people don't want to discuss them, out of fear, etc.

I think it's best to share paranormal experiences, because by doing so, you might just help, or at least entertain someone else!
